This stream is showing live pictures from a Little Egret nest at a Heronry at Stocker’s Lake, Herts, UK. Between February and May the stream was focused on a Grey Heron nest from which one chick successfully fledged. With the Grey Heron nesting season over the stream is now focussed on a Little Egret nest. Eggs started to hatch on June 10th and there are now two young Egrets at or around the nest, being fed from time to time by their two parents.
Our camera is solar powered and for this reason it is switched off overnight. It is on between 6.31am and 10.00pm daily but with a 16 minute break between 5.54pm and 6.10pm. The break is to optimise KZbin's facility of storing up to 12 hours of recording. Note that there is no sound in the stream.
Recordings of streams from previous days can be found on our KZbin channel. Because of the reliance on solar power, which earlier in the season was in short supply on some days, a handful of earlier dates are missing but otherwise our KZbin channel holds a full set of stream recordings dating back to early February. These are mostly well indexed, using KZbin chapters, to make key events easy to find. E.g. open the stream dated February 10th to find and view footage of the laying of the first Grey Heron egg.
