As someone who bought two mythic tiers, one to keep and one to play, I'm perfectly happy that other people are getting these new versions and I've ordered a couple of copies myself. But it's also important to keep in mind that the work on everything in these expansions have already been done so in a way it's a quick cash grab (which isn't a bad thing) that will help fund future expansions like Ogre Horde and Wizards of Zargon etc.

I love that these newest sets are each including heroes that were originally in the Mythic Tier set. It's a great second chance for players who missed out. I can't wait to see what the Druid's set would be.

I love that the alternate Dread Warrior is holding He-man's Sword of Power. As for the QC issues, I long suspected that Hasbro didn't actually plan for HeroQuest to be a product line. The way they treated it and the way the Guardian Knight played out suggests that this was meant to be a one-off product. As such, they probably didn't allocate a lot of resources and staffing to HeroQuest. It's only after it proved to be successful in retail that AH was given the resources to better QC and develop the products.

This was awesome I got mine yesterday as well and immediately compared them to my mythic stuff with my kids. I don’t have a channel so I was going to write a summary of all the changes but you got most of them. As for people saying the value is not there I want to just remind them what came with the mythic we got two dread warriors. Two abominations one gargoyle two orcs tow mummies 0:03 two goblins two zombies two skeletons and one female dread sorcerer along with three heroes. Now if you buy these two expansions you get one bard one warlock no Druid one dread sorcerer 4 orcs 4 zombies 4 skeletons 4 goblins 4 mummies 3 abominations 2 dread warriors and two gargoyles one of which is done in the red hero color designating it as the demon form of the warlock. As for cards the potions from prophecy are all equipment cards vs treasure. And the artifact scrolls did not exist in the base game. As for spirit queens torment again the potions were never equipment before and the artifacts that are repeated technically came in the return of the witch lord not the base set so is there value. Of course it looks as if there is undeniably something for everyone here. Even those of us that already own the mythic stuff

The Italian version of the SQT is coming on march 2024, while the PoT is coming on... october 2024!!! 😖Don't know if I will be able to wait these 2 jewels such a long time! BUT... if I would buy even the english version I could get extra translucent minis, mmh.. 🤔 By the way, just a question concerning the quest 1 of PoT: there are several treasure chests but no notes about what's inside (except for 1 of them, referring to note E). Was that an error or are those chests supposed to be empty because the heroes already took the treasures the first time they were there (in melar's maze)?

This is blowing my mind. I know there are a handful of expansions for HQ, but I've never seem or heard of these today? I see you keep showing the barcodes and references to NZ/AUS but I've never seen these before. Will they be hitting retail? As a Kiwi what's the best way to get my hands on these and some of the other content (the monk, for example) that you normally can't get over these ways?

I have mythic tier plus all the expansions released except for the knight commander expo. When I went through the new cards from these two new expansions I noticed I didn’t have cards for some of the potions and scrolls. This made me question if I am missing components somehow or if they changed the names for some cards. Looks like the original telor didn’t come with the potion of healing or magic cards.

The cards aren't re printed, but the back of the quest book makes mention of what will be needed since some of the quests do call for these artifacts.

I'm curious...how do you store your HQ pieces and cards given the hoard of new cards and miniatures? For example, additional Equipment and Treasure cards aren't going to fit in the core box, how do you juggle that? New video maybe?

I have a solution but I think it'll make folks cringe. Everything gets absolutely dogpiled in the core box. And it all fits.

@@AshQuest Like your style. That's how I used to house my HQ first edition. So, you pull out the plastic packing trays and chuck everything in?

Oh those trays were gone day one. I do keep all the cards together (the official cards, bloodquest, and axianquest all line one of the short sides of the box). Then the large room tiles are flat on the bottom. Then the doors I put all together in a container that keeps them orderly without taking up any additional space, it's pretty perfect. I do the same with the furniture as best as I can. All monsters and heroes are in their own baggies sorted by color and loosely thrown in so they have room to wiggle and settle. Then the books and board, and screen go on top. I get about a quarter inch of lid lift, which goes away if I press down on the lid.

"Prophecy of Telor" doesn't look quite as cool as "The Spirit Queen's Torment", and I still stand firm that the sparkling and translucent miniatures feel out of place with the established colour aesthetic, but as I've said elsewhere, I'll keep voicing my issues in the hope that Avalon Hill is listening and can take fan feedback into account. I'm still buying all of it and I still want the "exclusives" from both the Heroic and Mythic Tiers to be included in their original form in future sets.

After looking at the more translucent monsters, I think they actually lose some of the detail because the light shines through them instead of on them. I'm not sure if the changes on the cards were really needed. As for the missing letters\doors in the quests, those did need fixed. I actually forgotten about these coming out so quick after their pre-order announcement. I'm still on the fence about getting them since the boxes would take up more room in my closest. As for the dragon quest, I can still see that one taking a bit to come out depending on if they can convince the creator to release it once again.

I always want to try soloing all of the quests with ONE hero. Difficulty task...but in my head not impossible. So I ask the question. Now we have so many different classes: which class is best suited to soloing everything. Is it barbarian because of high body points? But then again with so many different health potions in the game, is it still important. Or a new class like knight...I don't know. Idea for a new video...maybe 😝

The Barbarian starts w 8 BP. If you boost it with Ring of Fortune (+1BP from New Beginnings online Quest) & Amulet of the North (from Frozen Horror +2 BP). You could potentially max out at 11BP (assuming they haven't added anything I'm unaware of) The Knight may start with 7 BP but they make up for not having 8 with the Stalwart skill that allows them to gain 1 BP if there BP are reduced to 0. They can also gain +1BP with Ring of Fortitude. This maxes out the Knight at 8BP + Stalwart (basically 9) The Knight is really best utilized in a party as there other 2 skills are used to defend other party members. I'd only consider the knight if you allow yourself an animal ally.

Barbarian is bad because MP becomes really important when soloing due to various things in a number of QP that can damage mind and going into shock basically is doom. Barb has only 2MP maxing at 3 with Talisman of Lore. Honestly, depending on how generous you are in your reading of rules Vs errata, either the Rogue or Druid is probably your best bet.

I know you didn't put it to a test, but by holding the miniatures, do you feel they are as durable as the miniatures from the Mythic Tier? They look flimsier, but perhaps that's just the visual effect of the transparency.

I don't really get flimsier, I think the material is durable, at least close enough to the original that I can't tell a difference. Interestingly I didn't find any minis that needed correction due to warping, so it might have helped hold the shape after the minis were manufactured.

I kind of like the slightly different color red plastic for the new version of the Heros. If you house ruled in an extra Warlock or Bard you could still tell them apart. Originally, I thought I was going to need gender swaps to get away with that. Seems AH figured out how to please my nich in a way I didn't expect.

Funny, I'm actually really sad about it. The matt red plastic holds detail moderately well (despite being too soft, like all the plastics in the new version), but the sparkly plastic ussed in the new expansions seems to be very 'squishy' and not hold a good level of detail at all, it's obvious they switched over to a lower quality cheaper plastic so as to not wear out the moulds as quickly. What's more, it's now inconsistent with the other heros! Which is a real killer for me. All I ask is a little consistancy across the whole game line. What they should have done is release the Mythic Tier heroes in male/female sculpts (with bear for Druid and Deamon for warlock as a three model deal) as seperate expansions, like the Rogue. Of course they should also have re-issued the Guardian Knight as well, but it seems like they're incapable to delivering on those pretty basic ideas. It would even have given people who bought the Mythic Tier like me a reason to re-buy them to get the alternative sculpt, so completionists could have everything. I want a male druid and female bard sculpt dang it! It annoys me because I funded and bought the Mythic Tier and I want everyone to get to play with the great high quality original sculpts I have, and here you are having to settle for these mushy featured gritty/glittery looking things. It's a real shame.

This is the weirdest dang nitpick, but I actually really don't like that they release themed coloured dice with each pack... I know I'm poisoned by weird brain worms, but I can't see a variant coloured set of heroquest dice and wrap my head around them having a normal distribution of skulls and shields. White dice have 3 skulls, 2 hero shields and 1 deathbunny! When I see green dice I'm expecting 2 skulls 3 hero shields and one bunny! When I see orange dice I feel like I'm entitled to my 4 skulls and one shield apiece! Normal disto dice not being white hurts my brain so bad! Whatever is next; purple dice without double skulls on them!

I've really wanted different distributed duce as well. Ive wanted the "German" sets ever since I saw them (the differently colored dice with various distributions including double attacks and so on) but held off since I wanted the wooden beveled dice rather than plastic cubes. ReproQuest does a version of these that match the classic style. I think if AH do give us alt distribution dice though, it'll be in an expansion that uses them specifically for the monsters or equipment therein. The Beastmen of the classic fan expac used orange dice, Making them a different feel of enemy; there's a ton of potential here and its one of my favorite ways to create new situations in the game.

@@AshQuest I Love 'mound of the beastmen'. I couldn't find anyone who did variant dice like I liked, so I got variously coloured large plastic dice (better for small hands when teaching the game to kids) and printed waterslide transfers to make up the sides, then sealed them with gloss varnish.

Mythic still has some things these two don’t cover/replace. The gender swapped heroes. The Druid and third quest book. It’s interesting when combined, you end up with more monsters figures than the mythic. Also more dice than mythic. I think they should have made new sculpts. That way there’s a reason for mythic owners to pick them up aside from the errata.

This product seems like a cashgrab to me, just reprint the same minis we already have in an alternative sculpt they already made for the kickstarter. This is just squeezing more money out of people with no effort

I can see that view, but there are a ton of people who couldn't back it, couldn't get access later except through ebay, and asked for it though. The corrections in the books are also very helpful and needed to happen for those of us who had the mythic set too.

I'm *very* happy they did this because I missed the Kickstart and the Abomination sculpt in particular is way better in this one, imo. Also I'll never complain about more dice colors.
