Nice review. I just recently picked up a second copy of the core game at a close-out store for only $18!! This of course after I got the mythic tier set from Haslab. And still have an original set. Really enjoying the new interest in HeroQuest!

an orc masseuse awaits in the room with the torture rack. There is a wooden sign on the wall that reads: "50 gold - basik rub" "100 gold - profesh'nul rub" If the hero agrees, pay the amount and lie on the table. The orc bends and batters the hero and they get up, feeling .... (for 50 gold, roll 3 combat dice. The hero keeps whatever is rolled as a bonus in combat. For example, if a shield and two skulls are rolled, the hero can roll an extra die when rolling to defend, and can roll an extra two dice when attacking. The effect is broken when they take 1BP of damage. If a black shield is rolled, the hero loses 1 BP and no benefits are gained!) (for 100 gold, roll 3 combat dice. reroll any black shields. The effect is the same.)

I’ve stated in a TikTok that the miniatures alone are worth buying this. Local game store I go to sell single miniatures for $5

I've stated several times across all kinds of social media that these expansions are good deals for what comes in them. $45 for 20-ish miniatures plus a bunch of other stuff is not a bad deal, especially considering the models aren't terribly sculpted and the plastic's rather durable. My only complaint about the heroquest like is that it's almost entirely random flavors of humanoids.

[slight spoiler alert] There is a quest in RotDM where you might need to have 2 dread wraiths simultaneously on the board. I think you're not meant to but happened to me (with the app, too). So in that one case would be useful to have the 2 minis!

The only way ot expand HeroQuest is ... with more Heroquest ! (but, seriously, the Mage of the Mirror Expansion is also a very solid value for a second copy... there is a ton of furnitures). In "Rise of the Dread Moon" : statues, specters, cultists and the mage desk are excellent.

Indeed. I have two boxes of almost everything. I have made Quests i haven't even uploaded yet, Dark Souls difficulty style Quests with the doubled up sets. Very handy. Still to get another Ogre Horde box though. Can be two factions of Ogres teaming up to take out the Heroes. :P Im sure i can think of something to do with two sets. :)
