Correct, this is an add on for the whales to have something to buy. Won't affect new players because they won't know ( or care ) what came before. Mid level players will be most affected. I believe most players who quit will come from this level and they've probably been on the edge of leaving for a while. This may be the final straw. Will it be noticeable? Probably not. Will it negatively affect Nexter's profits? Probably not. Will this be a topic of conversation in two weeks time? Probably not. I gave up worrying about Titans a long time ago. My biggest gripe about this is the end of reseting Gift of Elements, which I'm sure they've wanted to do for a while.

Only big players will care about this. I consider myself a strong intermediate player (630k first five hero power) and the thing is I have none of my titans at level 120. It will take me a while to reach it.

Heres what will happen: on each server, 4-5 players on a gold tier guild will become bridge trolls and the rest of the server will die off. This is a death knell for hero wars.

I don't think you are making a big enough deal out of this. If they are saying that you will have to level up your titans and their resources from 120-193, then that is a crazy amount of resources. it will change GW and CoW where you can have one max titan team that a whale probably spent $100k on that nobody can literally get past. This would be the end of Hero Wars

This will only be a problem in Clash of Wars, especially the Moon Temple and Gates and Bastions. In GW I was beating max teams back in the day with 4 star totems on a consistent basis playing manual. So a 120 6 star totem should be fine on offense. Just need to get the timing right.

@@HeroWarsCentral that is not neutral wanna take some math? ok lets say upgrading level of TOTEMS is fixed at 7k Emeralds (which is not the case) bringen One totem from 120 to 193 means 72 Level times 7k = 515k tims 5 because 5 Totems means 2,5 mio emeralds which is at x4 round about 2000 Euros so if youo invest 100 Euros you need 20 month of doping nothing else but this and you REALLY think this wont affect us???? and take a fight earth team with 120 totem 6 star against a fire team 90 level totem and than thing of fighting with 130 against 193 you have NO Chance at all anymore

I've converted most of my gold trophies to titan skin stones ever since hitting 120 on totems, and it's SO slow to earn them anyway. The 120->193 totem leveling will be dominated by emeralds

You need 26790 potions to upgrade a titan from 119 to 120. How many potions they will require to upgrade from 192 to 193? Will they adjust the number of potions needed from level 1? The whole thing is insane....

So... I've been expecting an update like this for probably close to a year. I've been watching and waiting, because what I could see was that the whales were sitting with the top 20 on my server having their titan value (including totem) never once changing for months on end. This meant that they were automatically completing several of the events for the titans without any effort, and the returns on investment for continued maximizing those totems were lowering. That probably translated to less financial returns during titan events (which subsequently started leading to double-dip titan events to get people to show any interest.). It just wasn't getting people jazzed because they were already at full competitive status and it was just a matter of duking it out and testing who had the best tactics. This was inevitable. I will say that this change will reveal the difference between the true whales and the casual spender who's been playing the game for years on end faithfully and built their power up slowly. This essentially creates a loop that edges anyone in the latter category out for probably the next year of play from being truly competitive and there will be some titan teams that are effectively impossible to compete against until enough sparks of power are gradually gained to master all heroes. In 1-2 years, loyal players who spend casually will gradually work their way up and catch up (at which point if we're still doing this the next "Update" will occur.). I'm curious to see how this plays out in actual gameplay, though I'm inclined to be less pleased by it for a while. My interest in jamming my primary Titan team up to 170 (which is going to be where I cap out early on) is so so, and I'll do it, but my interest in the kind of resources necessary to level a totem to 170 or higher (which let's be realistic, is emeralds. The amount of gold emblems needed to take things beyond 120 is exorbitant and there is VERY little likelihood that even the most rigorous whales have the excess gold emblems to do that on their own.)? That's a lot lower. This may ultimately be where the sunk cost fallacy isn't enough to keep me here. We'll see. I'm going to observe how this plays out over the next few months. If I find this TOO frustrating without spending ridiculous money to keep up, then there will be a point at which I salute y'all and say it's been a mostly fun 3 years, but I've got other S*** I want to buy and this is keeping me from buying that S***. That said? this is the logical move for Nexters. I would have recommended starting with the titans and rolling out the totem upgrade down the road, but let's just watch the mad scramble.

Personally since it is a way that resources that were prviously useless are now able to be used, I am generally in favour of it. Free to play players (which is what I am now) need to accept that they will never be able to compete with players who spend lots. To me the two most frustrating aspects of the game are having (and having to earn in order to complete tasks) resources that are absolutely useless (this can affect both free and PTW players) and tasks which if you are a play for free player are very tedious (an example is dungeon which without the ability to X5 speed is very tedious). This update at least addresses the first issue! Another update I would welcome is a way to use bronze and silver GW trophies; as far as I am aware once your totems are above a certain level thay are useless! After playing the game for a year I had been considering stopping but the update means I will at least continue until I have used up the approx 1M of each (titan potions and sparks of power) I had accumulated; titan potions in particular were practically useless before this update (with sparks of power I was just using them strategically when they provided most benefit)!

The frustrating part is that we all want to "finish" the game so we can stop spending and either be done with the game, or just enjoy goofing around with it. The only Hero Wars "winners" are the players that have figured out that you can just have fun goofing around with it.

In some ways I feel it is about time they increased the level cap. Don't like the Gift of Elements twist though, would have been ok with just capping the level at 130 for titans and their artifacts, totems, skins.

I don't know anyone who likes the change in the level cap, nor the removal of Reset for the Gift of the Elements. There are several big problems: 1) Players with MAX titans will have a lot of resources stored up with which to lunge ahead. The reworked Titan events have been shoving lots of resources into their hands. 2) Few players have MAX titans and are still trying to build them, and the finish line is now running ahead. 3) The new modes and quests have put a lot of demand on Gold, and so Summoning Spheres have been going to Gold instead of Titan Potions, meaning those players with MAX titans will get an even larger leap. 4) The reworked titan events will favor new players with low-level titans, while established players with non-MAX titans will receive few resources from them due to the difficulty in leveling Titans and Titan Skins. This wasn't a problem with the 120 cap, but the new 130+ cap will create a disparity between those with long ago MAXed titans and those without. 5) Completing the Season, Daily and Guild quests that rely on leveling Titan Artifacts, Titans, and Gift of the Elements will become more difficult to complete. Leveling the Titan Artifacts on a daily basis will become prohibitively expensive, as will leveling Titans on a sporadic basis. Players with insufficient Sparks of Power will no longer be able to Reset and reinvest to complete the Gift of Elements quests. This is really just creating a mess. With the reworked Titan events, I was already frequently running out of Summoning Spheres and barely leveling my Titans. They need to introduce more pathways to obtain Summoning Spheres.

This shows the absolute lack of creativity the devs actually have. The outcome of this is absolutely predictable. Either be a whale guild, or very shortly your guild is capped with no way to advance. They can reduce COW to one day because no ones getting past the bridge trolls and that's by design.

Now if the resources become just unavailable, the game becomes entirely different. Regular spenders will not have the means or interest to match whales.

It takes 26,790 potions to go from titan level 119 to 120. If it is that much or more for every level to 193, that is at least 2 million titan potions per titan. Likely, you will get enough sparks of power for free just doing all that leveling, idk where you get that many titan potions (or gw trophies, or cow trophies, or artifact materials).

I've been saying this, and I'll keep saying it: They need to make the Titans interesting and fun. They have fun things for Heroes, but Titans are just there to do monotonously slow battles over and over. They never develop personalities, story lines, etc. They don't get events - other than Brawls - to develop their personalities. They are just giant, boring golems - mindless and without charm or personality. Who wants to spend time and money on boring characters?

the raid change for TOE is NOT for better....now we can not change defense teams for each stage, if we decides to raid. We will now be forced to play each location 1 by 1 so we have an option to switch defenses.

there are 6 guilds in gold, 10 in silver and 30 in bronze. and as it stands bronze is mostly full of half inactive guilds. and maybe top half silver is decent.

I must be on a weaker server then. We have 3 strong guilds in Gold League, 4 okay guilds fighting over the last 3 Gold slots, which means 1 okay Silver guild. A couple of weeks ago we had a guild with literally 3 members finish at the top of Silver League to participate in the Gold League promotion match.

When I first read about this, I thought the +1 lvl to things was just going to be added, not you having to add that lvl. So level titan to 130, then if you have 10 heros maxed GoE then the titan would be 140 or like you have a lvl 80 totem and you have 40 maxed GoE heros, so that totem now becomes 120, but you still pay the 80 - 81 trophies to lvl it.. But after reading it a few more times and seeing ppls comments, I'm really not sure anymore, because lvling any of those things from 130 - 193 would be insane.

I can't imagine getting enough Gold Trophies to level up Totems anymore. My guild has been in Gold League (at the bottom) for several months now and we have earned a total of around 1,500 Gold Trophies. That is barely enough for 2 levels near the current max in several months. As the prices go up in the 120s, 130s, 180s, it could take literally years for 1 level. And that is still infinitely better than anyone in Silver League. I don't spend a lot on the game, but I realized that as teams had more time in Gold League they would level up their Totems making it even harder to break into Gold League as the disparity grew so I went ahead and spent to get my Totem to 120 (during Winterfest last year). I am 1 of 2 members of my guild that did that, the rest of the guild is Free 2 Play. Now it will become even more extreme of a barrier.

Big problem is that to get into a gold level guild you need max totems, and in order to get max totems you need gold trophies. If they come up with a new way to generate gold trophies (trading up?) it will go a long way towards easing the pain here.

Trading up would absolutely rule, even at a disadvantage. Getting titan skin stones is easier nowadays and I have no more use for my bronze and silver trophies. I would totally buy into that. Right now it’s 2.5S per 1G so maybe 5S for 1G would be acceptable.

Honestly, I'm not worried entirely. Like in one hand, yes, it's ANNOYING they're moving the goal post to a few more levels and then the fact the true goal post is by an extra MORE cause of how more inter-connected the Gift of the Elements will be now with Titans. BUUUUUUUUUT, I have a soothing caveat.... This will end up being another "AOC is the New COW" fiasco where they tried to outmode COW in favor of AOC, which at the time was an unready mess for such a move but has improved since (Give or take the one match I ended up second place cause I fought with two guilds with more than one active player), everyone threw a big fit about and they backed off, COW ended up here to stay (To my chromogen cause I still can't even ACCESS COW cause of being in a guild stranded on Qualifying League), with at most they're promising to amend AOC further and further and thus fair keep it an annual event like with Great Storm. So, what's gonna happen is that the people behind the game saw what a shitshow this update is. They're gonna gut their plans a bit by only keeping what people didn't complain about and drastically neuter what people hated, I.E. at best only keeping the 130 plans and leave Gift of the Elements alone. At the same time, the Tournament Changes will pretty much survive cause I think it's the changes to Titans overall that's the biggest controversy. So don't worry, this isn't gonna be the end of HW, cause if they backed out on making AOC the new COW, they're gonna do the same and gut their plans a bit to remove/neuter the controversial change to make the ones less controversial more doable.

I'm hoping it's a classic 'Bait and Switch'......throw out a ludicrous proposal (193) and once the s*itstorm hits, backtrack to the 130 level, which by comparison, now seems eminently 'reasonable'. As a result, they achieve their desired goalpost move to 130 and almost everyone breathes a big sigh of relief (and fails to complain about the undesired move to maximum level 130). Not an optimal or even intelligent strategy IMHO to deal with your client base, but HEY, we're dealing with Nexters strategists here! 😵‍💫

I do not consider Titans as a part of the game. They are awful and free from any fun. I don't understand even why they exist in the game..just to make people spend more. all titans related things are crap. Clash of worlds is far from fun, as it is now. And rewards from it are meh.

I could imagine 193 effective level fire totem: annihilating everything (99,99%) in few seconds..... In last life video i missed the last answer.... (and cant reply there under the video) Raphael: I have been playing this game a year and still I dont have a totem. Me: Raph: buying first two totems for 45k is a first thing to do! then watching real stream missed this: Raphael: where do you buy it for 45 and is that emeralds skutduck: Spend emeralds on the Titan artifact spheres, you wil get totems that way. I saw it many times, people having no or just one totem fragment. And as F2P (me just bought very few for possibility to raid) are two totem fragments possible (next others are nonsense numbers emeralds). As skutduck is saying, you have to invest emeralds into Titan artifact spheres (its Titan valley - Altar of elements). There is a system called Bad luck protection. When you invest emeralds, there is the limit, when you get the totem fragment. First totem fragment is for 4,5k. I dont remember it correctly, but there are some quests at beginning, so first totem fragment is easy. Second took me some few months of savings (primarily gathering 20k emeralds from the maps) and some planning to connect emeralds spending with some good events (i did it with Weaving patterns+emerald sale; Weaving patterns give you some bonus map movements). The second limit is that 45k emeralds. So, i think, gathering two first totems is possible and i think, one of the first best investments. Even if you dont care about titans, you should care about Titan soul stones shop:-P

How many long-time players (moderate to heavy spenders) will have enough trophies (I"m assuming gold trophies) to level up the totems for free (at no additional expense, just the stuff you've hoarded over the years), "motivating" other players to spend to keep up. Will they introduce a new game mode to earn a new kind of trophy to level up from 120 to 193? 130 was predictable when they introduced red hero artifacts - 193 is just silly.

This will make GW and COW super boring. Bridges will be impossible to cross and that will screw everyone off. The only way to fix this would be to have a Gold+ league for those ultra powerful guilds. Or rearrange all servers so the most powerful guilds compete at the same level. I understand they need to add stuff to make players engaged but this thing will not improve the game in any way. Another point is that it will become just impossible to complete those « get 80 titan levels » quests. If they want to get players invested in titans, adding another titan for each color would have been the smart choice. It would give a good strategy part : sacrifice another super titan to charge your totem faster. Bottom line : terrible choice.

@ I wasn’t there back then so I have no reference points. However what we see here not of the same order of magnitude I believe, especially the level cap of totems. A so so team can win against a souped up team if the totems are maxed out. It happened to me this week in the ToE. What sucks this time around is that there was a semblance of balance. With heroes, there’s a synergy element where the right team composition can beat a « stronger » team because you can exploit its weaknesses. That’s not true for titans. You use the opposing color and you’re supposed to be good to go with some minor tweaks here and there. The minute you will face a level 193 six stars fire totem, it will just tear right through even a blue team unless said blue team is close to 193. That’s the biggest issue here.

If I made a million dollar per month I would still not spend above 1k for this cash-grab, thats called common sense I think. Its not like "your problem, get rich!" kind of thing. You can say that if I want to race a Porsche and complain it is faster than my Lada. But you can't say that for a game, especially a game made in photoshop. This could be the final attempt to rob people before they shut down the game in few years. It is your (and all content creators'") duty to be vocal about such things, all you do is just saying "yeah, its pay to win game" and then here and there you say you dont recommend people to spend money. what will be interesting is this is what killed WoW and PoGo because a casual gamer can put fifteen unkillables together then work on a bench of mages and bring up some unique facilitators etc. but to just go full intent obsolesance and say the sky is the limit to how much you can spend on this removes the ability for the slow and steady tortoise to eventually corner the race - like this effectively makes titans a pay to win exclusive outside of the pretty colors max them all if only to convert their stones into gold but don't even bother leveling extra curricular of the game - and if they were to do it with the main game i could only assume was a cash-in action 🤑💰💸

they better start making multiple CoW leagues based upon server age. servers 1 to 50 are going to have bridge teams people on server 200+ just can't beat. CoW will die hard for the newer servers, we'll never make it past the 1st bridge and be in the lower leagues permanently, unless your guild has multiple super whales willing to spend $10,000 on titans in the next few months

I've recently maxed my last elemental totem, it took me a few weeks of collecting gold trophies to get it from 119 to 120 level, how long will it take to push it every single level higher. What's more the golden trophies will be responsible for 113 levels of the totem, whereas the silver and bronze trophies give you 80 levels combined, ridiculous.

This is a band-aid/sticky plaster moment. It barely does anything. It just looks good in theory and messing with the power balance isn't going to change anything, since the game has never been about balance. They may try to regulate to the same power structure between players, but it will never happen.

so basically what this does is gut the middle class lol - feel like removing spark reset is a huge mistake but what this invariably does is say there is no cap on titan strength, people who max champions they are not using and don't care about will have a distinct advantage over people who say - - - have to ration which hot rods they're chroming rather than just maxing every champion indiscriminately - - - now you could make the argument that going around the wheel on sparks isn't the same as chroming a champion but if we're going that route then yes, now you take something already impossible: aka i just managed my FIRST 120 after nearly ten months and sure i could have been more efficient especially with titans but outside of resetting the account those days are now a fantasy - now every single level even on menial afterthought titans i wouldn't skin if i weren't a completionist weirdo is an absolute arm and or leg pound of flesh scenario, i used to 80/80 levels every time for a glory period between realizing all of my titans are over 50 and i should have been doing this, to as i've said now where it's been at least a few months and i JUST maxxed my first this devolves into one end of the spectrum: people so weak they likely become matchmaker chum and quit, and people who still don't know how to actually play the game essentially asking each other who has more money 🏴‍☠

I don't know why people are mad. This is just how they keep the hamster wheel churning. As I explained to a fellow STO player, it's easy(ier) to balance PVP to keep the whales spending by raising power level incrementally. They'll keep chasing the high. It's harder doing it for PVE-ish games. You have to constantly crank out new content people would be willing to spend on, be it ships with STO or cars with GTA5. You will eventually hit a mark where that becomes saturated. People will gain all the meta items and stop chasing the vanity assets. You can only then rely on your play loop to keep them invested (e.g. why ME3MP has survived so many years and became surprisingly popular). Hero Wars isn't fun like... AT ALL. As a matter of fact it goes the opposite direction by trying to make the experience as annoying as possible to get you to buy stuff. It's why they are cranking out the QOL changes for the annoying nag screens and walls that they themselves artificially put up. This is why I always mark "1" on the survey they gave out for "Would you recommend to friends?" Hell no. But for holding my guild together by a thread I'd gave up on this game a long time ago.

Brilliant business decision. Free to play / low level cashers will have ZERO chance to compete and will quit. Cant get resources from dungeon due to being nerfed. Only way to get to 193 is to majorly cash. CoW, ruined. This leaves only the whales that spend huge sums of money. Less free / low level players = less server costs, less lag. Big influx of money from whales having to be firsttttttttt in everything. Win / win for them. The only reason to keep free or low cashers is to get name recognition / player base. They have that, as they passed 1 billion dollars in profits 2 years ago. What do they want or need low cashers or free players for? Enjoy your game, whales. You can jerk it to each other. The fewer and fewer of you there will be over time.

It never occurred to me to use the Gift of Elements reset to cheese the Sparks prestige task. I would have definitely exploited that if I had.

Sounds as if people will need to do dungeon runs on a daily basis. I am gyuessing most players who have all their titans at level 120 have stopped dingeon runs. Those that have continued are sitting on titan potions and titan soul stones......oh well
