I sure like that SPYDER. Big shower. Big sink. Big water tanks. Good hot water source. Big garage storage to store expensive bikes and FOLDING RECUMBENT TRIKES conveniently inside the trailer. Also a good work space for your computer. For the ladies, plenty of closet space for clothes and shoes. A big walk around bed is also a necessary minimum thing to have as well. Be sure to stop at Floral City, Florida on your way back to Miami and test ride some recumbent trikes at TRAILSIDE BIKE next to the 46 - mile long Withlacoochee Trail. Many seniors would love to still be able to ride two wheeled bikes of any kind including electric assist ones, but they no longer can due to balance problems. A recumbent trike totally solves that problem. Thanks and be safe.

If you got the micro minnie and had a larger awning added to it - one that would extend down and over the window, you could have the window open when it is raining. Maybe you could install your own small awning to cover just that window. I love the way it was raised so much higher and the steps looked like they were much sturdier and better quality to enter the trailer. Can't wait to hear what the price is on that Micro Minnie. Winnebago has improved their Micro Minnie line considerably as you have pointed out.. Better suspension I'm sure and the option for better tires. Your truck can pull a new one in style.

The AT package has taller wheels and I believe a 2" lift suspension raising a total of 4" inches. We like the Winnebago 2106 DS with the seat instead of the dinette. A couples trailer.

The Europeans are way ahead of us and have been for quite some time. The younger RV users don't want to sit around once they arrive and get set up at a campsite. They want to get out and move around kayaking, bicycling, and hiking. With the advent of quality FOLDING RECUMBENT TADPOLE TRIKES like the HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS or the Catrike Dumont, an entire world of safe activity is opened up for all ages, but especially for seniors. With models like the Leisure Van WONDER and the Coachmen Cross Trek, we are finally catching up to the Europeans. The Greenspeed Magnum and Magnum XL trikes are for heavier riders. The XL will hold riders up to 450 lbs. Test ride good quality recumbent trikes and you will see what you have been missing.

Thank you for showing us all those new RVs at Hershey RV Show. So hard to decide on which one to get . I like that they are going more "electric" and getting away from propane. It should bring costs down but it does not look that way. RV sales are down so bargains to be had?

Hi Robert. Great to see you at another RV show! I'm in the UK, and have also been following the KZbinr Andrew Ditton who was at Caravan Salon Dusseldorf last week - Europe's biggest such show. Fascinating to see the different styles and approaches to RV/trailer design between Europe and the US. May I ask if you've narrowed down your choice of new RV? I've just purchased a Hymer Eriba Nova L 442 - used to have an Eriba Troll 530 and it looked great with the iconic retro styling, but was just not big enough for a family of three...

I'm not sure, but I think the idea is that if you're RV'ing, you kinda wanna be outside. If it's raining when it's time to eat and you're in the United States, chances are you're a little overweight and can skip a meal or two or three until the deluge subsides.

What is the max length trailer are you looking for? It seems like the trailers you show are short. I have a 26' Coachman Freedom Express 246RKS and it is perfect for the camping I do.

That would probably be the absolute maximum. I prefer maneuverability. I've become really used to living in my 19 foot trailer.

Hi Robert, you forgot in your discovery, or didn't see that they removed the two very nice dresser drawers built into the bed frame...and now it looks just like a general storage space. I would have loved for you to open that compartment, to see if there is any type of feature to store dressing items...T-shirts, trousers, bra's panty/underwear...for if it is now just an open cabinet space...they blew that with me...for sure! We have a 2018 1706FB, and we don't need a 32 inch TV, if you don't have Theatre Seating...and sitting in the Dinette, or on the edge of the bed...our 19 inch does very nicely. The 1708FB also weighs (dry) another 300 pounds...so WHAT DOES THAT COME FROM?!?!?!?? We don't see any true reason to 'upgrade' from our 2018 1706FB...especially when you lose those two huge and wonderful sliding dresser drawers below the bed. That is an awesome feature, that even trailers five or ten feet longer do not have...

@@TravelingRobert Yep, that is something we might also do. Robert...we love our 2018. I tow with a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan...with the factory MOPAR tow package, and get loaded out for a trip, at 60 MPH on the highway...(no head winds..), between 13.5-15 MPG. You can't beat that with a stick, lol! What I love about our trailers...is that they have everything you have at home...but in a very well built and compact form. I don't need a 25-28 foot TT, just so I can take three big strides from the bed, to the bathroom! We are out of the TT, at any given destination...85 percent of the time...we CAMP, lol...so, only are in the trailer (my wife and myself) for sleeping, food prep and eating of same, (rainy etc), and bathroom 'duties'.... What more does one need? Safe travels...and the fact that we both have a trailer that CAN be towed across the continent, and not bankrupt you in fuel bills...Cheers!

Too much potential, precious storage space is allotted to tv's in these rigs I find.

I agree...you have much more storage/pantry/hanging space in the original 1706FB floor plan...and...you also have the two fabulous and quite deep dresser drawers, built into the bed frame, that is now missing with what looks like just another open storage space. What this tells me...is that they removed those drawers, and the gliding hardware for them, to merely save money and time in manufacture. Sad...for that totally turned off my wife and myself, from leaving our 2018 1706FB at any later date for the 1708FB. Why would one NEED a 32 inch TV, for when you can only sit four feet away from the back wall in either the TV facing Dinette seat, or while sitting on the edge of the Queen bed, as we do, in the morning, watching our 19 inch TV, while having coffee and waking up. Unless you have a side wall, slide out, with Theatre Seating, having a large TV in a 20 foot TT, is a total feature set waste...for who is going to spend any amount of time at a campsite/resort, sitting in the trailer...and not out and about. We watch TV, just before we go to bed, in the evening (our 19 inch), to catch the day's news...and perhaps a show or two, for an hour or so. To give you that 32 inch TV, you lost pantry and storage space, on the left side of it. Check out a KZbin video of a 2020 1706FB and then now 2020.5 1708FB that 'retires' it. BTW...one chap with his wife, that just purchased a 2020 1706FB..is REALLY PISSED, that their resale value has just been put into the toilet...as it ISN"T EVEN 2020 yet...and their '2020' 1706FB is now OBSOLETE, and no longer manufactured. They are REALLY pissed with Winnebago....and I don't blame them. Trade in, or private sale time, is going to be a bitch... What I would do, is catalog the storage, and clothes storage, that is lost by buying a 1708FB over the still-in-stock, (by dealer inventory only) of the 1706FB....yep.

@@TravelingRobert , We did this year. We had a Palomini RBS15. It was small and a really good mountain machine. I could get it anywhere. But the wet bath thing was a bummer. We decided to upgrade and got a 2020 Flagstaff MicoLite 21DS. I was a little worried it would be too much for our truck. We have a 2014 Ram 1500, but it is only a Pentastar V6. However, it does well and is very spacious. Whatever you decide, I look forward to seeing it. My Wife and I enjoy watching your travels.

Winnebago trailers are just not keeping pace. They seem the same as years ago. No innovation, no zip...no zing. I am nearly 70 and these models just have no appeal to me. I guess that is why there are so many choices these days. Thanks for the video!

Would not want dual axels on anything under 19ft.Not necessary only causes uneven wear and adds more weight. If you purchase quality tires and use aluminum wheels (less Heat) and come into a blowout. You should be able to gain control of the rig. This happened with my smaller boat of 4,200 at 70 mph total blowout and imminently came down to 28 mph and no issues my sway control and Fords standard antisway control took care of everything. I was using cheap tires and galvanized wheels but had torsion axel.

Ford Van | drove 50K Mls, hated it, too $$. ( sold) Dodge Class C | Junk, poor workmanship. ( sold) Fleetwood Travel Trail | too long & noisy in storms. (( sold) Dodge Class A | still own, but $$ and too big. Chev Camper | driven 500K Mls | Convenient, $$ to , Hard sleeping for seniors, , pull utility trailer for vices/ supplies. RVing is $$$ and never ending money hole. Harder harder to impaired seniors. None of these units were built for offroading/ boondocking, poorly built.
