Comparable to your MiniTini is the CampLite 16' Travel Trail that is 7' wide & All Aluminum Construction. Please see if you can find CampLite Travel Trailers @ this RV show. Their products are similar to what you already have EXCEPT the entire frame is welded Aluminum which should eliminate the shortcomings of fiberboard in the shower area. Specifically, this is the model (CL16BHB) I hope you will go inside: It's 16' with bunk beds & a separate eating/works station, just 7' wide, & includes a huge 6 cu ft compressor type frig/freezer.

Would love to have a 16 or 19 Caravel, that line is one up from the Bambi. It has a gas oven... The 19 have a black and gray tank, not combine according to the brochure I downloaded. The combo tanks are because the size of the trailer. The 16, Nest and Basecamp have combine tanks...

There is ample room at Trailside Bike in Floral City, Florida to park your truck and trailer. Just ask the owner Andrew. Relax and try out some recumbent TRIKES. You can be a real positive example for people of all ages to exponentially enhance their RV experience by riding recumbent trikes.

You're doing a great job Robert at the Hershey RV show but could you please say the weight of some of the campers you're showing.

The bath, closets, etc. are better located on the driver's side of the coach, so when he/she looks to the right and rearward, any traffic on the right of the van is easier seen through the bank of windows there on the passenger side. Some Class Bs block that passenger sidewall so your blindside area is even worse. I wouldn't want any "innovation" there layout-wise as IMO, it's a good reason to do it that way: Put all the "tall stuff" behind the driver! ;-) What "innovation" I REALLY want to see in MORE Class Bs from the major makers (not interested in Advance RV, Sportsmobile, etc.) is (1) 4-season rated and (2) 4x4/AWD -- only the Winnebago Revel 4x4 44E is 4-Season and 4x4/AWD...so it has NO competition presently. The 19' Airstream you looked at is 4x4 (and the same small/maneuverable 19' the Revel is) but is it 4-season? Even if it is, the price is a bit much for most of us. A Coachmen, Panoramic or Regency Class B would be way less expensive AND they still give you quality Winnebago has been overlooking lately. Example: The Revel has poorly done and even missing insulation -- Winnebago not taking it being advertised as "4-Season" seriously. Sad (and they should be embarrassed)... One other thing: Many of us don't want a Class B built on the ubiquitous Sprinter/diesel chassis...we want Ford Transit/gas (3.5L EcoBoost engine, not the 3.7L NA engine). Although a few makers ARE using the Transit, AND making it 4-season (Coachmen Beyond, and possibly the Panoramic and Regency also) the current Transits are 2WD/RWD only -- not great for snow where some us us want to go. With the new 4x4 Transit chassis out for 2020, we should be seeing 2021 model Class Bs coming out the end of 2020...THEN there should be some competition to the Revel. For sure, by 2022 there should be several 4-season/4x4-AWD Class Bs on the market -- aside from the Revel. I don't think Winnebago will make a "Revel-like" Transit because it'd cut into Revel sales, so it's just those other brands I'm trying to follow. ;-) Happy Travels, -- BR

BaseCamp's best feature is the Truma water/furnace combo & the air is ducted. However, I've never seen a BaseCamp or a Nest in any campground or even being pulled down the road in over 1.5 years, which says something. I am absolutely certain of this because I was interested in the BaseCamp until I realized how many windows it has & how difficult it would be to retain cool air inside during hot summer months or retain warm air during cold winter months. I was also interested in the Nest until Airstream announced the price of $45,000 which is $15,000 more than the price they were being sold for B4 Airstream bought out the mfg.

The sprinter chassis models have real issues with weight. They are not a great rv chassis simply because most with people food, water and their stuff put them over the GVWR. Most people that use RV's probably don't know there weights or heights, they just use them. That's probably because there really is no accountability for the most part. It only if they might be in an accident the insurance company might deny there claim if they find out they were overweight. Which is probably pretty rare. I have always liked the 23cb. They provide a front seating/glass area that is equal to much larger airstream with the bed in the back. They changed the name from 23d to 23cb a couple of years ago the cb stands for corner bed. It's nice to see that Berkshire Hathaway has changed much since they bought the company after 2008. Most of the companies product are mid to low quality, unlike airstream. The combined grey/black tanks is an airstream hack that has been around a long time. A lot of owners found that they were filling one tank and the other one sat underused. So this means that people can go much longer between dumps.

Airstreams are waaayyy too expensive for what you get. No storage, small refrig, have to pull with a van or truck w shell to store belongings. They are pretty tho.

Side note: being in the automotive industry for over 20 years, I can tell you sprinters are junk. Many times I've seen sprinters that are just a year old getting something repaired on them. Especially the bearings and ball joints. Nevermind seeing a few fuel pumps here and there. I wouldn't waste my money on a 6 figure sprinter that's for sure.

So expensive and not going to have a separate gray / black tank? That just sounds gross! Plastic toilet and so confined! I'd rather use my money and get a higher trimmed travel trailer and not pay the extra cash for all that aluminum that is used to make these over hyped Airstreams.

Back in the day, it was more common to not even have a gray tank. In the 60's and early 70's the units came with a black tank and then the gray water just went out. Many people would just let the gray water (bath/shower/kitchen) flow onto the ground if sewer was not available. We had a 72 Winnebago like that (bought new). When it became taboo/illegal to let gray water flow out we had to modify the plumbing so the gray water would go into the black tank, thus it became a gray/black I guess. Worked fine since technically you could not allow ANY water to touch the ground and everything had to go into the sewer anyway. Lucky that the Winnebago had a Monochem recirculating toilet so there was some wiggle room when dry camping (not a fan of the toilet but it was what it was). I think the black/gray combo is a space issue more so than a money saving scenario. The Airstreams do not have a lot of room and to have water, gray and black tanks it becomes a logistical problem for routing plumbing and placing the tanks between the frame rails, etc. I am also sure it screws with the weight distribution as well. My guess is from a marketing standpoint, they had to sugar coat it since some would question the combo. The black/gray combo tank would not stop me from buying an Airstream. The price certainly does though. Great quality and awesome resale...hands down.....cost entry to purchase too high for me!
