Ahh yes, the Hershey of my day. I loved taking my kids here every year in the 80's and 90's and in later years my grandkids. Back then it was quiet and not very crowded. Spotless clean. Eventually it became too much and I stopped entering the park but still visited Chocolate world and Tudor square ( the original entrance way/area to the park). Now with even that gone it's even more sad. I still go to Chocolate World with my wife now and then but only in the off season because the crowds are overwhelming. I know for park enthusiasts the progress is a good thing, but for this nostalgic old man It's sad. I miss it. Thanks for posting this 😊

I was just at Hersheypark today. While I enjoy the park immensely, looking at this old footage makes me miss Hersheypark when it was simpler but still ahead of other parks in the region.

Yes the Giant Wheel my childhood, I often wonder what the waterpark, Skyrush, and new main gate would look like from it. Also I wish I could have ridden Sky Ride just once. I bet the views of Comet were amazing.

It's very amazing to see Hersheypark in it's days before, Great Bear, Skyrush, Stormrunner, Wildcat (RIP), Lightning Racer, and Fahrenheit.

This belongs in a museum!! Also I grew up with Hershey throughout the early 2000s but love seeing older videos of the Park. P.S. The train ride in this video is one of the only good quality videos of that ride I can find now. They butchered that thing recently :/

Thank you for posting this! It was my home park during this exact era. Who knows, I might of been at the park that day! A beautiful park through and through.

They recently took out all of the props on Dry Gulch. No more Indian Village or ghost town buildings. Now it's just an empty field.

I miss the sound of the Giant Wheel and the sound of Sidewinders old release before going backwards

I had a friend in high school who could do a dead-on impression of Sidwinder's old release. The things you find funny at the age of 15...

Oh wow, this was before the introduction of the candy height designations? 14:10 And yes, the Giant Wheel brings back so many memories. I must have had every inch of this park memorized (even the mini golf course!)

Wow...and It was better then. Too overcrowded and cramped now. Corporate branding everywhere. But looking at video... Neat to see Skyride, Tiny Timbers, new sidewinder on train ride. No Stormrunner. Conestoga wagon was awesome!! Canyon River Rapids RIP. Flying Falcon! Giant Wheel!

Ferris wheel gone, skyview ride gone. This is right before the park really grew up.
