(He was so upset) Renesmee was working her magic since the womb.( She is intelligent & gifted) I don't think Jacob really had a choice with imprinting. Somewhat similar to the book the Time traveler's wife. Claire meets Henry when she is 5, and he is 35. They married in the future, and he knows it but says nothing to the child. (They are just friends) Claire also tells her brother, when she is a lot older, that she loved Henry since she was 5. That she couldn't change it, even if she wanted to.

I read something about Twilight imprinting, and it was mentioned that the imprintee decides what type of relationship they want with the imprinter! Emily Young's niece, Claire was imprinted on by Quil Ateara when she was a toddler, and I thought he acted like a big brother - or even a babysitter! Jacob was the same way with Renesmee!

It's an EXTREMELY difficult - and stressful - situation to be put in, but I looked up information on imprinting, and I learned that it can't be forced on anyone! Jacob tried that with Bella, but their souls didn't "match!" He was strangely drawn to her while she was pregnant, and it was Renesmee who wanted him near her even BEFORE she was born! It wasn't until AFTER she was born, and she and Jacob looked into each other's eyes, and he imprinted that he finally understood what was going on! NO ONE could have imagined that Renesmee was his soulmate, and he insisted that imprinting on her wasn't his choice, and that wolves have NO control over it! The wolves were shocked, but Edward read minds, and he reminded the wolves about their "most absolute law!" IF I was in a situation like this, I'd also be in shock, like Jacob was, but I'd also be honest and truthful about it, just like he was!
