Hertfordshire Village Walks. Part 5: Walkern, Benington and Ardeley.

This walk takes us from the village of Walkern, in north central Hertfordshire up to the neighbouring village of Benington (birthplace of the Saxon King Offa, and then across country to Wood End, before reaching the attractive village of Ardeley. This walk was close to home as it was the start of the heatwave and we didn't want to venture far in case it got too hot and we had to abandon the walk.

If it is the one I am thinking of the hollowed out Oak Tree is locally known at the lightening tree. It is about quarter of a mile from the farm at Bassus Green. Great video.

Amazing Hertfordshire, Amazing village walk in Walkern, Benington and Ardeley. So peaceful and comforting feelings to watch the relaxing visuals. Cows were looking so cute while grazing in the meadows. No doubt this is the best village walk channel of England. Keep it up.
