Scared for my Future on Motorcycles. I feel like I need to explain this video. FIRSTLY, I am by no means depressed, or sad, or upset. I just wanted to share a more raw version of myself and how motorcycling can affect my mood. Okay, the explanation: This is the first time I have ever really shown such emotion during a motovlog. I should also mention that I almost didn't publish this video. But at the end of the day, I wanted to share the raw feelings that come with just being a normal human. I started this day off not feeling happy, and not sad. More of a melancholic mood than anything. I didn't want to go ride. I didn't want to record. And I didn't have to. But after sitting in a zombie like state for over three hours, I decided to get off my butt and go ride. Only planning to turn the camera on if I felt like it. Before I knew it, I was heading down nostalgic roads. All while feeling anxious about how much gas I was using... Why I wasn't home editing, and when I was going to feel inspired again. After about 15 miles with the cameras off, I decided to turn them on and just wait to see what would come. A good 5 minutes of dead air passed before I said a single word.
Then it happened. That feeling started seeping back. The calmness that comes when you're spending time with an old friend. The ease of speaking to the camera knowing I am speaking to you. I felt myself letting my guard down. Feeling a little more emotional. Talking about the things I have been struggling with and feeling like I was back to my first couple videos. Then it hit me. The feeling of going back. Way back. Over 20 years back. To my childhood running barefoot around those gorgeous country roads. Alone.
It got me. I was not prepared for those memories. And it was amplified by being in it, out there on two wheels. Fully immersed in the sights, sounds and smells. I just lost it. I still don't know why I started crying, but it felt right. It felt like mourning. Remembering an age when things were actually so bad, they felt good. Realizing that positive thoughts and happy memories cloud out the bad ones. Make you forget the struggles.
That's exactly how riding motorcycles makes me feel. Wholly present. Perfectly aligned with myself and the world around me. It changed my mindset and snapped me back to my existence in the present. I proceeded to ride for an additional three hours. Not caring about gas prices, the KZbin Algorithm showing my channel to new viewers, the cost of maintenance to travel long distances, and especially the expectation to produce a top quality video.
I was just me. Alone. Existing. And it felt perfect.
I typically NEVER type this much in a description. (Like, never. this is the first time) But I felt so compelled to peel back the curtain. Show others that bad days are real. They are detrimental and they are normal. "This too shall pass" I came home feeling like a new person. So please, don't fret the pressure to always show up, to be present and to feel like you HAVE to perform every single day.
Anyway... I love you. Be Good and thanks for watching.

Well the truth is we are already in a depression and have been since the 80s Hell i live in Canada and they cant even afford to make pennies here Yea im serious they stopped making pennies in Canada about 4 years ago here as the copper plated steel pennies cost more than a penny to make Now think back to the great depression in the 30s we had solid copper pennies plus silver and gold coins backed up by the gold standard and the country wasn't in debt Now we have plastic money not backed up by anything and are trillions in debt In the 80s a factory worker or shoe salesman could buy a house and feed a family on one wage So yea were in a depression that many seem to have voted for for many years now ?

Jess, you came into my virtual life at a time when I needed it most. I lost my husband in a motorcycle accident in 2019 that I witnessed (I was behind him) and I wasn’t sure if I would ever enjoy riding again or even get on my bike again. I needed to get past the the PTSD and overcome my fears. You helped me do that, your channel has helped me realize that I freaking love riding and it’s in my soul. For that, I thank you, and I’m sorry that you’re questioning yourself. Please know that you’ve helped many people with your channel. ❤️

Don't apologize for being sincere and real. I'm a 75 year old man who has ridden since I was 16. I know what riding feels like and don't need to watch a video of a motorcycle ride. I watch your videos because of who you are, your personality, your way of showing your enjoyment and enthusiasm of riding and for your way of describing your activities, both riding and camping. I'm sure I haven't seen all of your videos but I especially enjoyed Babes Ride Out! because of the excitement and enjoyment you displayed. You're doing a great job and I hope you continue.

I usually never comment, I’m relatively a silent viewer but I just want to say that your channel (and YOU) has inspired me to get out there and chase my dreams. I’ve always wanted to ride and now, coming up in July I take my very first MSF course. You were the first person to pop up when I searched “how to ride a motorcycle”. And from that moment I was hooked and always look forward to what you put out next. Thank you all the hard work you put in to your videos. ♥️ I hope to ride with you one day

The MSF course will teach you A LOT. When you do start riding on the streets and highways, I’d recommend going with people that are at your same skill level. Don’t let anybody push you into riding faster than you feel comfortable. If you were in California, I’d roll with you. Best wishes and stay safe.

@@stephaniemartinez1526 If you’re ever up in the Northern California SF Bay Area, I’d be down to do some parking lot teaching or slow-ish neighborhood learning. Are you leaning more towards Harley/Cruiser type bikes or sportbikes? If you just want to “see if it’s your thing”? Get a Honda Grom which are only $3,499 new. When you’re ready to trade up, Groms have excellent resale value.

loving the honesty. Recommend paring down your fleet to reduce the expense stress. Two things I learned in business. 1: Never have or depend on one supplier. In your case, that's KZbin. 2: Never depend on one customer. Well you have many so yaaaay! Also, don't let the man-made catastrophes ruin your joy. Spend as much time as possible with those you love and enjoy hanging with and pick something EVERYDAY that you can look forward to. You are young. I am old, so believe me, time is fleeting so enjoy every single day God has given you. Many will continue to live and enjoy your moments vicariously.

Hey kid, great vid. Look I'm a 74 year old Vietnam Vet who gets emotional from time to time. Don't worry about it. I've also been across country 13 times on a motorcycle. Yes, it is getting expensive and mainly due to gas prices. I just got back last month from a 3 week trip to Las Vegas and back beginning in Greenbackville, Virginia (northern peninsula of VA). I shouldn't have to tell you, that by camping you cut the cost significantly. If you need some tips, just ask me or my buddy Adam Sandoval. Anyhow, good luck on your venture. 🙂

Hi Jess! I started watching you for the same reason you started this channel. You are indeed an inspiration and a trail blazer. Support speech aside, I wanted to tell you what I as a solo woman rider who doesn't fit into any particular rider category i.e., adventure rider, club rider, etc... just a solo gal riding her HD Softail Deluxe... struggle with. Before that though, I can't imagine being in your shoes and looking for content but I can say 2 things... the world IS shifting again, and not into all that comfortable position, and also, people are going back to a kind of' business as usual' that doesn't nearly as frequently focus on the pursuit of personal happiness (?)... not sure that's what I'm trying to say but I hope you get my meaning. It's because of these two things that more than anything I would like to see you succeed! Sooo.... you asked what I would like to see and it's a lot of things... I love your insights when you ride and the vlog is awesome but I really struggle with things like... Bike modifications... equipment (bags, grips, running boards, stuff) that I might help my ride more comfortable or practical... gear, same thing. I really enjoyed the camping stuff but kept saying to myself... 'damn, I wish she would show me how she set her bike up, and why'... what to look for when purchasing items, etc. Also, practical tips for (solo) female rider safety, practical riding tips, ways of meeting like minded women (if you don't have a KZbin Channel haha), etc. I know I'm gonna get some flack but I have been the woman that walked into the local HD shop and BEEN IGNORED until I hunted someone down to help me with parts only to be asked "WHAT KIND OF A BIKE DOES YOUR HUSBAND RIDE?" Dude... I've been divorced for 13 years, should I call and ask him or would you like to help me with parts I need for MY bike? Any content you provide that helps women like myself who may not have a supportive community feel more self-sufficient or provides resources is incredibly appreciated. I've had my bike for way too long and put way too few miles on in for a ton of reasons... some of which you might be able to help with. I don't know if that gives you any inspiration but I hope it at least gives you food for thought. Good luck Jess!

This is a great video Jess! It's the raw honesty that we love. You Josh and Adam are my absolute favorite creators because you guys are so honest and transparent. I can tell you as a fact that the anxiety you're feeling about the future of America is what the overwhelming majority of the country feels right now. You are NOT alone! Can't wait to see your Sturgis content later this summer, I might even get to meet you which would be awesome! The sad thing about the oil crisis is that it's a self inflicted wound. I work for a major oil company and we have 100+ years of known reserves in the ground, the government just won't let us get it or build any refineries for that matter. On top of that the mandatory burning of corn in our gas tanks is making food prices worse and is horrible for the environment. But don't worry leadership will change soon and hopefully we can get back to 2019 levels of prosperity. Keep making great content and I'll keep watching.

I understand as an artist that can be devastating, I personally feel that is has nothing to do with your content or skills. I hope that you continue to share your epic adventures. Hugs my friend.

Jess whatever content you do is fine with me the reason I watch your channel is because of you and nothing else you are who you are and being honest with your viewers is the best you could ever do for your channel so I do recommend don't change what you're doing if it makes you happy that's what really matters you can't please everyone but you can definitely please yourself I do love your channel a lot hope to meet you one day I'm in Calif.....

Jess, Idk why this video just popped up on my home screen. I just found you a couple weeks ago and your content sucked me right in. You truly are an inspiration to all of us. It's 200 percent ok to show us that you're human. We all have things from our past. You're a human being, you have feelings, you have emotions. I've seen several of the people I follow go through the same thing. Your mental health is the absolute most important thing in your life. Aside from KZbin, covid messed up a lot of us people. It was hard to go to back to "Normal ". You have a lot of support out here and always will. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for being real. I look forward to your content. Keep your head up and knees in the breeze.

As long as you're honest and authentic, you're winning! I think the world is becoming increasingly more superficial, more preoccupied with the illusion of the internet than the realness it can be leveraged for. I think there'll be a big lull for content that's wholesome and open, people are kind of addicted to the news cycle and traumatizing themselves with stimulation. They can't help but watch the spectacle, it's just like passing by a car crash on the highway. I hope there's a renaissance in the future for motovlogs and good laid-back content. I almost feel that channels like yours (and the rest of us) are leaving breadcrumbs for the next generation of riders ☺ It's hard to know whether we're ahead of our time or our time has passed, but it's a good time nonetheless!

I feel you about the times...the anxiety can be soul crushing sometimes! I hope you continue to succeed in building your channel and making it the best it can be! Couple of thoughts as feedback for you. I started watching you for your vlogs, camping, and motorcycle travel. Its what I like to watch when I'm stuck at my computer working and not riding. Loved Jordan's recent trip video! I'm one of those people that got you dinged on the babes ride out stuff cause I watched the motorcycle traveling parts and skipped the hang out parts. Watching people hang out with their friends just isn't what I want to spend my time watching. Personally I think doing more travel vlogs like you were talking about would be amazing. Me and my wife love to sit and watch a good motorcycle travel vlog; not only is it fun to watch but it gives us ideas for our next adventure. I appreciate you keepin it real and good luck! Looking forward to that cross country trip on Oppa.

I’ve been watching you the past six months. And I see/hear you struggling. It seems like you’re battling between doing what you love and getting paid for it. My wish for you is that you do what you love regardless of who sees it. Maybe there’s another revenue stream out you haven’t thought of. I loved the Babes Ride Out content - I’m the audience for that. The guys are not. The more you try to get a lot of clicks the less fulfilling this will be and the farther you stray from what brings you joy. My humble 2 cents.

Everyone knows the uneasy feeling of the current times and the near future. What you said was familiar to a lot of people about being scared about the future. OK to be scared, but don't get paralyzed by that fear. Keep moving forward, keep looking for the glass half full. It'll come around. Stop asking and guessing what we want to see. Do what makes you feel good and right. You being you is why people watch.

Jess, there are things in life above money and algorithms, you with your videos have helped and inspired people in ways you probably never imagined. I am one of them. If not for you and that crazy swamp wizard Josh I would be in a very dark place right now. I got into riding 3 years ago as a way to earn money to pay my mortgage by delivering food for Uber eats because it paid very good here in Romania, and as a heavy KZbin consumer I found you and through you I found Josh. Both of you guys inspired me to finally try out a life long dream and start a KZbin channel (April 2021). Two months into uploading to KZbin I got a very good job at a motorcycle dealership, things were looking great. Another month passes (June 2021) my wife is diagnosed with a very aggressive form of uterine cancer and my world came crashing down. Your videos, motorcycles and my own channel kept me motivated to work, to keep my head up because I have to be positive and mentally stable to support my wife who is going through hell, literal hell right now for the past year. You and Josh inspiring me to do this, to work for this, you guys saved my life and kept me a sane and happy person, and I can continue to be the rock that my wife needs. I owe you both more than I could ever repay in a lifetime, thank you for everything and never stop believing in yourself, you are a wonderful person doing wonderful things!

Stay safe, the community will be here for you we are all in this together trying to find our own roads to follow.

INSPIRATIONAL!!! It was 100° in the Phoenix area this morning when I watched your post with a forecast of 106° in a few hours. I was going to sit home in the A/C and just chill out all day. Instead, I put on my ice jacket, mesh jacket and long sleeved shirt. I soaked my arms and gloves several times with water which I brought with me. It was 75 miles one way to Globe, AZ where it was a little cooler. The ride through the canyons was wonderful, as always. The ride across the desert floor to and from the canyons was tolerable. Overall, another great motorcycle day. I wouldn’t have done this, Jess, if you hadn’t impressed the importance of riding when we can. Thank you. Loved the ride today. So worth the extra effort. Hope you get a chance to read this and understand how you’re important you are to us. You touch us all in one way or another and you are appreciated. Happy trails.

You go girl. I just love knowing that more and more women are getting out there doing things that I used to do when I was younger. That seemed to be just a guy thing. I love it. I love watching all you Tubers taking us places that I couldn't go. But made me realize I still wanted to, an could still do. By watching I've been able to see products, bikes, maintenance, safety, an destinations. An I will be grateful to you all for sharing. I've bought a bike. An will be going for an eight count out of the gate. In the next few days. I'm not one for the big rallies and stuff like that. I'd like to get out on my own. To see those things that you're all showing out there. That might be some of the Indian thats in me. Oh by the way. I cry as well about the past. An then I thank the Lord for the journey. An let's ride to be free. I'll be watching. 🙂😀
