HERZOG slag automation using a robot circuit

Automatic systems from HERZOG for the preparation of slag and other powder samples are the standard in many quality control laboratories worldwide. HERZOG offers various options for arranging the machines for preparing slags and other powder samples. In addition to a linear configuration and connection via a conveyor belt or a seventh robot axis, the machines can also be arranged in a robot circuit.
The fully equipped robot preparation circuit system consists of three machine types. The HP-CA laboratory crusher ensures the pre-crushing of the slag. Afterwards the sample is taken to the HP-MA vibratory disk mill. The fully automatic machine finely grinds the sample material to ensure high-precision XRF analysis. The HP-MA can be equipped with numerous options such as a magnetic separator for extracting metallic particles and various cleaning mechanisms. Finally, the HP-PA produces a pressed tablet for highly accurate and reproducible analysis of the chemical composition of the slag. In this automated laboratory, the robot transfers the pressed tablet directly to the analytical instrument for x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy.
