I love seeing Quinn's binders. I love having a character bind openly and not be ashamed about it. And I love that it's not used as a teaching moment for the cishet audience (á la Sex Education). Quinn just wears binders. End of story. I know it's a tiny detail but it really means a lot to me and I hope that this notion will someday blend over to mainstream media as well

This is chalk full of stereotypes and obsessing over being gay in weird ways, but then I think about how a lot of LGBT youth truly are thinking and acting like that, I realize this is a good show. Even if I find some of the behavior cringy, it reflect reality for some people, and that is what art is supposed to be. And y'all are doing a good job. I'm just hoping by the end they learn not to open up their minds about straight and gay stereotypes and what it means to be LGBT. Also, I'm a lesbian and red hot chili peppers is one of my fave bands so I loved that joke lol. And y'all chose the perfect cheerleader to fall in love with.

absolutely! I really love seeing myself being represented as somebody who makes being queer a really big part of their personality because idk in a lot of queer shows people either never mention that they're queer and play it down or they have no other personality trait and are tokenised so seeing people celebrate their queerness and living their best lives as walking stereotypes because they want to is super refreshing and makes me feel so validated skdjsjjsj it really motivates me to express myself in my identity and it is already my comfort show after only 2 episodes 😌

THISSSSS! Also I feel like this is a very dramatized version of how queer kids act. I feel like their behavior I’ve witnessed and their focus on their gender or sexuality is moe how middle schoolers act in my opinion. Maybe since I’m a senior now I do see freshmen act like this. Idk lol! I hope I don’t come off as rude or offensive or sum. Some people can just be obsessed with their gender or sexuality, I have when I first discovered myself. But I do hope they add more personality to their characters and backstories.

I hope as the show progresses we get to know more about the characters. There’s nothing wrong with being a stereotypical loud and proud queer and I like that they show that because queer people like that exist, but I hope they also build up the characters other personality traits as well to diversify them and give them more depth. I can’t wait to see where this show goes 😁

Thank you for saying this, some of the other comments I saw mean this but put the stereotypical queer as an issue or a bad thing, but these are stereotypes the queer community kind of made for ourselves but tbh this is what I to others would look like, mostly mickey mixed with quin, and it's an issue to people at first as they see an openly queer person and that's an issue to them. It works to really show a queer experience directed to queer people who don't pass to cis and hetero standards and therefore are normally bullied so find each other as a safe space but are then viewed with more criticism as they are then to gay or too trans for others in media to be seen as good representations, as it's not their experience or at least having these traits is seen as bad because for once it isolates out the cis and hetero viewers as it's not about them.

not going to lie, as someone who's unlabelled (probably bi) the gay straight alliance would be the last people I'd come out to ( with the exception of Cohen and zel) they spew out so may gay stereotypes, expectations and dare I say predjudice I hope its ironic. I want to see more about their lives than being gay since I feel like the whole premise of this show is to delve into the lives of gay people. The best way doing so by not making gay the entirety of their personalities.

@@fantaisia_ It's true that young LGTQs act like that, but sometimes it's very uncomfortable, at least to me. In my case, I'm studying my same degree again in a new uni, and there are younger kids around (tho I'm only 22) and there are this kids that only approached me just because I'm sapphic. Also they "ship" me with a straight girl they are trying to "convert" to gay, even tho I have an official girlfriend too, it's just that I'm very private, but they even know her and met her before. We're both very uncomfortable at this point.

I mean, it's probably a comedy show thats supposed to be funny hence why they play at so many stereotypes and inside jokes in the community. But the best comedies always have serious sprinkles in them, so hopefully we will see something like that Making 'gay' your entire personality is not something bad, though. And it isn't possible in real life either because no one is made up of only one thing. I feel happy when I see people who are really loudly queer and proud because I have struggled with internalised homophobia and shame my entire life. Seeing someone else being authentic to themselves just makes me feel hopeful and happy. I understand that some people don't want to be as 'loud and proud' as those people, but criticising them because they feel free to be themselves isn't the right way to go if we wan't to make our society better and more accepting

Mickey is my favourite character at the moment, purely because fem transguys aren't really ever shown in media and although I am white, him being POC is just nice to see in lgbtq representation, as POC's are under represented and it's nice to know how much this series really cares for actual good stories and at least from my experience in university what being queer is really like. Though I wish I could build a bigger tightly knit friend group still, as so far only 2 other people (a couple as well) I am close to who are queer and the others are just friends or aquatinences who are kind but I haven't gotten that close too. Plus I want his confidence as part of me is always just feeling I am not guy enough to be counted as a guy by others and guys especially seem to only see me as female still.

Dude Quinn makes me feel so much better about my reaction when I see someone drop-dead gorgeous and my brain goes to mush and then I sound like a nervous wreck XD

Yalll why do I get weird vibes from the cheerleader. Like she really wasn’t transparent about her sexuality at all and then went and sent mixed signals by flirting with Quinn?? Nahhh Quinn better keep an eye out for her

Well I feel so related with Quinn's personality... I can't flirt and I often stumble with words when I try... And flash news... I like to write so "words" shouldn't be a problem for me. But... I easily get embarrassed...so... Yeah, here we are...
