At 10:02 Nikki played a 3 on her own pile when Lincoln had a 3 showing.

33:40 Rusty did the same with a 6 that could have gone on Rodney's. I don't think the outcome of either game would have changed, but it could have been a butterfly effect changing more than just face value.

Love seeing Nikki win one for once(Very rarely does she do so). I also found it funny as heck when Rodney asked Lincoln to play on his pile and every time Lincoln did afterwards Rodney looked like he was about ready to flip the table lol. As for this game I MUST and shall HAVE!!!

Cool to see you play games you picked up in other countries Mau mau is the phrase you yell at the end when playing your last card in the card game mau mau ( it is like UNO but no „take 4“ and change turn order) In Germany it is probably one of the first games you teach your kids at least when I was young

Mau Mau is a game similar to UNO where you try to get rid of your hand and instead of special cards you use a standard poker deck and certain cards have special actions. When you have only one card left you say „Mau“ and when you win you say „Mau Mau“.

Language trivia: The pronounciation is close to "Hoil dog". It roughly means "Cry then" and is used like "cry me a river". Judging by the amount of complaints uttered, that seems about right ^^ Mau mau doesn't mean anything that I'd be aware of. It's just a simple game to play with a plain deck of cards. edit: seems like you already knew some of that

yeah it's like "foil" with an h. dog seems to be closer, think about a snorting sound when you say the "ch" in that case (there are 3 cases acutally :P )

Yeah, that was funny. Little hint for the correct pronounciation: "Heul" is spoken like "Hoil". And "doch"... uuh... ok. Well, at least it's not spoken like "doc"... :)

The ‘doch’ in Heul Doch is hard for non German speakers, as the ‘ch’ is like the sound of someone winding up to spit, except not so exaggerated . :) It isn’t pronounced like ‘dock’ But ‘Heul’ is easy to pronounce correctly It isn’t pronounced ‘hule.’ It is pronounced more like ‘hoyl.’ :)

This confuses me, because the 'doch' sound is something Americans are familiar with whenever they do an impression of a vampire being exposed to sunlight, except less aggressive. It is *THAT* sound, except a little softer and with a 'do-' in front of it.

If you can pronounce "Loch" (like in Loch Ness) you can pronounce "doch". Same sound.

You actually remove 2 cards if your playing any count. But if you use the spec cards it depends on how many play.

@@dandurkin9735 the number of players has to divide evenly into the number of cards so if 4 are playing and your using 110 cards w spec ones you have to remove 2. This goes for all circums. For ex. 4 doesnt divide evenly into 110. But it does into 108.

At 16:40 why did Rodney play his brown 5 on Lincoln instead of his own brown 3? In the following turn, he didn't play a 3 of another color or brown but onioned.

sorry for the late reply Rodney plays brown 5 on lincoln pile because Rodney has a yellow 3 on his pile and rusty plays brown 3 on Rodney pile

when lincoln play a light blue 5 on top yellow 5 Rodney's pile was upset because Lincoln play a light blue on Rodney's pile and Rodney had a yellow 5 so Rodney put an onion on his pile because lincoln probably screw Rodney's hand or doesn't want to give any players points so he made it to crying onion and then when it was Rodney turn again he plays yellow 3 and then rusty play a brown 3 on Rodney pile and then when Lincoln has brown six then Rodney went a head and play brown 5 on a top lincoln pile

And also Rodney can't play on his pile because Lincoln has a brown six and when your neighbor has the same number or color has you must play on their pile then your

I would have appreciated being able to see at least one player's hand. Being able to see what choices they have and experience how other cards played affect their options would give even better insight into the game feel. Seems like a great filler/family title!

I see no point to the memory element... we'll just keep the cut onions splayed next to our piles, to easily see what number we're at. Other than that, looks like a great game.

I think that would take away from a major element of the game. Not knowing how many anions you've cut factors in deciding which cards to play.
