Hi Barry, thanks for the review. We'll look into why the hex heads don't fit the aluminium profiles. We added these bolts to the baseplate some time after the initial release specifically to make installation easier, but it appears the wrong spec/lenght may have been packed.

Ian Longley I like polyurethane more than rubber, from my point of view it feels more natural (by leg... more like racing car brakes). So I'd like to buy polyurethane springs instead rubber for my HE Sprint. So I suggest HE to begin to make this upgrade for sprint pedals :). Fanatec sells this springs upgrade for 30 eur... I'd like to pay 70 for HE ).

I would like to say that I am grateful to you Barry for these videos. They offer a deep dive into best practices and offer detailed product information regarding breakdown, assembly, and adjustments not offered anywhere else, including the manufactures owner's manuals. I do wish that Barry would be slightly more critical regarding the product negatives. I do agree with Barry about the HE Sprints having some design flaws, such as the standoffs for the pedal tray's threads not being tapped down far enough. This causes enough of a gap between the tray and the standoffs, even with the suggested washers used (both in the manual & Barry). This is a minor nitpick but enough of one that causes owner's to do additional work to correct or just put up with the minor imperfection. I see several other opportunities for Heusinkveld to improve upon that cropped up during my installation. These being said I feel that for their price point it is a good product and I am satisfied with their overall useability as being the benchmark pedal set to own by the sim racing community. They are highly desirable and sought after product. If not upstaged by another company's product, they should maintain their resale value. I give them four out of five stars rating (4/5). 1) In order for all of the pedals to be of similar alignment, the Throttle Pedal must be moved all the way forward and then backed off slightly so as not to get hung up on the stainless steel pedal tray back lip when depressed. I would like to see the grooves on the backplate be shorted in the front to prevent this rubbing. Similarly, the Clutch and the Brake pedals must be moved to the furthest adjustment to the rear of there slots just to be in line with the Throttle Pedal. Even with using this maximum range of adjustment, I am unable to line up all three pedals all the way. I would like to see them do so with future revisions of the schematics and production. 2) The type of steel used to make the pedal brackets themselves (and possibly other components) is a very MILD type of steel. It is quite malleable and it is very easy to bend the material by hand (I'm not a very strong guy either!). All of the pressure on these parts happen on the z-axis, so conversely when assembled the Throttle, Break, and Clutch appears rigid enough to withstand the forces applied to them. Nonetheless, I would either like to see Heusinkveld use better quality steel or even go back to using stainless steel as a building material. It would be interesting to see if any warpage due to structural failure occurs overtime or not. Had I known of the mild steel, I would of more likely than not of chosen the Meca Cup pedals instead, but I preferred the integrated control box of the HE Sprints, as Meca's control box is separately mounted. 3) I agree with Barry regarding the method of securing the pedals to the sim rig itself. I would also like to see additional hight built into the bottom pedal rails, so as to be more readily accessible to using the standard fastener of choice, socket head bolts. A cutout above the area would be one way of doing this.

Washers are the sim racer's friend. The ultimate baseplate has the same mounting "issue". But to be honest, I didn't experienced it as an issue. Use a washer as a spacer for the 15mm hex channel bolt. For the plate assembly. They should supply them. As a easier solution.
@krazyhartin2 жыл бұрын
To fix that little wiggle problem, I would use a socket wrench to tighten the standoffs and use a spanner to hold those gripping washer nuts. Don't turn the nuts, turn the standoffs. Let the nuts dig into the painted steel; if you turn the nuts, they'll scrape off the paint and the steel will be exposed to moisture. If there are plenty of washers leftover, I would use those washers between the standoffs and the painted steel. Everything will be tight and should last a time. ☺👍

We currently release a production run 3-4 times per month on Fridays. We do no longer sell out within minutes, the last time it took around 48hrs. Demon Tweeks gets a fixed allocation of pedal sets every month, and although I cannot say this with certainty I think they most of the time should be able to deliver within 4-6 weeks. Our production has grown a lot since last year to the point where we rapidly ran out of space. In a few weeks we'll get additional workspace which will increase our assembly/storage/office space by 3 times. This should help us to increase production even further.

My first sim rig/equipment I'm using a csl dd 8nm, and the clubsport v3's. To be honest I've never been super impressed with the v3's, absolutely LOVE my csl dd though. The v3 pedals work well enough for sequential cars, but IMO they are prettyyy bad for h-pattern. Coming from focus st, focus rs, e39 528 manual, and a bunch of others I've had experience with, the clutch feels very unrealistic, which has made me really struggle to drive h pattern with them. So 95% of time I drive sequential cars. Im upgrading to these and can't wait, got to try them at microcenter and was blown away, not only the clutch but the throttle and brake too. I just reserved them at microcenter in Georgia and I'll be driving from north Carolina to pick them up, along with the mount/heel plate. Can't wait! Barry is the best with his reviews, I know exactly what to expect.

really surprised they didnt use carriage bolts for the pedal mounts. would have been the way to do. put the nuts on top and never need to get to the bottom.

Seems money is not a problem for an endurance GT3 driver, these or ultimate?

I just noticed your FPV quads in the background. I wonder how many sim racers also race quads?

@SimRacingGarage Did you figure out why the brake load cell maxed out at 40?

i think the software is the best part of these pedals, just being able to adjust the brake pressure deadzone to match the car im driving to completely stop locking up

iRacing Rookie this. The pedals are super nice but the software is the best part for me. Real masterpiece

Are there any compatibility issues with these pedals for any games? Are they easily recognized? I play everything from sim racing to the crew 2

So if you mounted the pedals before the heel rest you could get to the underneath from the front it looks like?
@simracinggarage30265 жыл бұрын
Yes. Still, with the pedals mounted to your rig it would be a bit fiddley to get a wrench on the nuts because of the short height clearence. There are other ways to access them. if you have an 80/20 rig you could mount to some longitudinal profiles and have room to access the nuts from underneath. I'm sure we could think of some other ways also.

Hi Barry in your opinion which do you prefer the Heusinkveld ULTIMATE Sprint Pedals or the HPP 3P-PRX. Anyone else chip in as I am going to buy this week, thanks :)

The down and dirty solution to the pedal mounting problem, for me, would be to take a cut-off wheel and cut down the allen wrench to a stubbie length. Sometimes a little custom tool is the best solution.

Does the Ultimates have the same software for calibration and multiple profiles for different cars ?

Hello Barry, great review as always!!! Can anyone tell me would the PT-2s or the Sprints be a better choice? I have used the PT-2s before and I have an opportunity to buy another set from someone I know but I'm awfully curious about these new Sprints pedals! Can anyone share their experience on which would be the better buy?

How much does the length of the lever and the location of the spring rod connecting to the lever affect the feel (e.g. compared to Ultimate with longer level, and the spring rod closer to center of lever)?

Hi, Very good program, I have few question, what you recommend: Leo Bodnar 54 or Simucube ultimate and wish pedals to make a training sim, I gonna build inside a Mygale F4 chassis Thank you

I have not had an opportunity to review the Ulitmate. I don't comment on products I have not had in my hands. I can say this. For a long time my prefered wheelbase has been the SS2 54G . Based on the systems I have tested to date, I don't see that changing.
