HEWLAND ARROW 10OCC REBUILD

Breaking In Hewland Arrow 100cc Kart Engine. Installed new piston purchased at LAD KART SHOP along with gasket kit. The Hewland uses a Window style piston. Ran the squish at .034" with .090" BTDC Timing. Piston To Wall Clearance set at .0035". Static compression at 180lbs.

I had one of those on a Birel once. I won a bunch of races with it. I wish I still had it. You can keep all those wimpy racing for strokes. They're for old ladies

I ran Ernie Fisher's pro open Hewland at the Laguna '83 nationals in practice and was sailing by twins at the top end. I've never felt so much top end in my life. No idler screw because those engines were built to run direct drive.
