I revived my TV remote with graphite from a #2 pencil. It's been working fine for a couple of months now. I just sanded the lead from the pencil on 220 paper and applied it to the rubber pad with a Q-Tip. Nice scope!

Hi DoubleHaulCharters, Great suggestion. That is probably what the expensive small bottle available commercially is composed of. It likely uses some kind of binder also. I will try experimenting with this concept (with an old TV remote first) .

11:00 you need at least two cycles of a wave on screen in order to measure the frequency.

Hi Richard, I get most of my test equipment at hamfests. You can get some great deals, especially for non functioning gear. BTW, did you ever find the one armed man :)
