this farm also works on java btw, just replace the trident killer with campfires, and the buttons with trapdoors, and it works perfect

If you play in the Java version, just change Trident Killer to Campfire, and it will be fine. The Trident in Java will despawn after 30 seconds.

I just finished setting mine up. I started with 4 layers first (ran out of wood) and was having the same problem; real slow spawn rates. Then I finished 10 levels and made sure I did the huge roof to create massive shadow. Now I'm getting almost a stack every 10 minutes. However, I got rid of the campfire and installed slabs so I can hit them with my looting 3 sword. Hope this helps

I feel like you need to build farms like this high up in the sky so no other mobs spawn no? I always thought with farms like this they work best when you light up all the caves in the area so none spawn down there. but building this in the sky would work similar to your trident farm.

ok yeah after watching the video again you say to build it on flat land or 100 blocks above its probably the best idea to place 100 above for anyone trying to make this and built it on the ground and it isnt working try light up any caves underneath you to stop other spawns

its worked for me, make sure you build it exactly like him. for better results build it like 100 blocks above the top of the ocean, and build an afk spot about halfway to the top of the layers to trigger more spawns.
