Recent subscriber here - greatly enjoying your videos, learning a lot, both woodworking technique and shop helpers (the glue stand? genius!) Also, Bob is awesome, and deserves a biscuit. I've never tried inlay, wrote it off as "too advanced" for me, but now I think I'd like to try it. Thanks! -Xar

xarvous Can't be to advanced if I can do it! As for Bob, believe me he gets more than a biscuit especially when he helps himself to the open Pantry. But he's good mate so I don't begrudge him that. Pleased you are enjoying what we put up. Have you joined the Woodworking Masterclass e-Workshop yet? It's FREE. @ www.woodworkingmasterclass.com.au Cheers Steve

Nice job on the wood inlay Steve, I can't say I've ever tried the wood inlay but I worked with Mother of pearl and Abalone shell. Your inlay piece is Soooo thin I was almost scared it would break. Looking forward to the next video.

Tomy Hovington Thanks Tomy, .07mm seems thick after you have been doing it for a while. You are ahead of me though I haven't tried shell but would like to some day do you use it on musical instruments? Cheers Steve

Woodworking Masterclass the to boxes n making are out of birds eye maple and quartersawn makore. A year ago I purchased a compass rose inlay, but never could figure out how to, a) veneer and b) add the inlay. The past couple months you've taught me how to do both!! Now I need to figure out what I did with that compass rose. It's killing me and I'm tearing apart my workshop looking for it! If I can find it, it will be an excellent addition to the makore veneered box! If I can not find it I will try to maker one myself using the aforementioned tutorial.

Daniel Bornhoeft The combination of Makore and Birdseye should look stunning. If you can't find the Compass Rose I have a good one I do and will make a video on how I construct it, if you want, a little later on. Cheers Steve

Thanx Steve - great video. The rain here in Sydney has been just as bad and it's great to be able to spend some time watching your videos :) What exactly is that pot of "hide-glue" please? Cheers
@Woodworkingmasterclass9 жыл бұрын
Aussie631 More on the way so batten down the hatches. It is a Pot of Hide Glue. The glue pot is called a double boiler and the stuff inside is heated, mixed up hide glue, sometimes called Pearl Glue or Animal Glue. Cheers Steve
