A great and straightforward instructional video with an encouraging and friendly attitude! A fine art indeed and thanks for taking the time to share this basic technique. I might try it myself for a clavichord I'm building from scratch. Kind regards.

I like the simplicity of the hand powered fret saw over using an electric powered scroll saw. Looks like it should be very relaxing.

Very well done video. The sound quality could be better but that might just be my old ears. Once I put on earphones it was much better. Thanks for your work.

That would be a great way to cover defects like knots or deep scratches when refinishing a piece.

Very good intro to Marquetry. Your first and last steps are correct in cutting counterclockwise, but your second step ( 2nd part of the leaf) you mentioned ccw But you were cutting clockwise. That makes the piece your cutting Smaller and creates gaps around the piece when inserted from the bottom. When doing more complex problem, this Will be a visual problem. Thank You in taking the time to get others interested and presenting it very easily, Maybe mention that they can also check in local club for more techniques. Thanks.

Peter, after scores of videos I've watched, dozens of articles and blogs I've read (ALL, by masters of the craft), I finally found, here, in you, someone who explained it well enough for me to get it, and get going on it. My first multi-element piece is now under clamps. Thank you. BUT, There's no link here to your website, FB page, YT channel. Do tell. Where can I see more of you? All I found, upon Googling your name was a FWW Readers' Gallery picture of your fine Rollfe chairs.

Don't hear you explain why you cut clockwise at 10deg? What if you do it the other way? Would you have to put the piece into the field from the show side? Small point, but if you're trying to understand this, it makes a difference.
