It looks like mostly Douglas-fir, cedar, and possibly redwood - temperate forests of the north-central and north coasts of western North America. Very widely used in residential construction even today.

i can only guess that Kvohst got sick of screaming/black metal vocals... which is why he quit everything to do Hexvessel full time? Really going to miss him in Code, resplendent grotesque was great. But I definitely dig what he's doing here. Dawnbearer has become my "go to" CD, for starting off a nice relaxing morning.
