The reason I loved Hey! Arnold was because of how true to life it felt. Back in the time before every kid had an iPhone, people used to actually tell each other spooky stories and you'd get that one kid who used to go out and see if it any of it was true. The 90s were a great time to be a kid.

Since Engine 25 is still in service, the crazy driver presumably didn't literally drive it to hell, maybe it crashed, caught fire and was later repaired, but is now haunted by the vengeful spirit playing his accordion and singing this spookily awesome song.

Honestly this is my opinion I believe that there are 2 engine 25’s and the one the kids saw was a replica but it’s not the same as engine 25 which resembles a n&w k class 4-8-2 as the Great Northern mountains had front mounted air compressors, elesco feed water heaters and Vanderbilt tenders, which is my assumption that the engine 25 #2 is a replica of this former n&w k class, and that the orginal engineer still drives the orginal train along the tracks of the steel mill route This is my theory Railfans if ya got your own lore put it here below mine

Fun fact: if you look at 25s tender it says (great northern) which was actually a real railroad, and not only that the locomotive was most likely based on the GN P-2 4-8-2 steam locomotive

I somewhat agree but in reality, the basis of Engine 25 was based on a N&W K-1 class 4-8-2 Mountain type, which was built in 1916, but according to the fandom wiki, Engine 25 didn't have an N&W number like other K-1s class that were built and possibly in the 1930s or 1940s it was sold to the Great Northern Railroad when it re-lettered and numbered as 25. Although this is not confirmed

I believe this engine is based off the the great northern railroad heavy Mikado 2-8-2 3202 steam locomotive. It was built in 1918 and was scrapped in 1944. It's also the same design for the piece Marquette but with the whistle being at the front and the domes are different and different walschaert valve gear and wheel arrangement being the 4-8-2 and different whistle sound and design although it's almost that similar to the engine.

Very well made man. Though I was an infant when Hey Arnold! was at its peak, I was fortunate the then unknown last few episodes of it in 2004 and I was 7 years old then.
