Graham, fabulous. Thanks for reminding me of this jewel. Back in the early 1960s, my local DJ played this tune every day for eight months. Years later I discovered why. My family was living in Ft. Worth TX where the sessions for HB were recorded by a local producer. Call it "Texas-Proud.' Not that it's a big deal, but locally, he was referred to as Bruce "S-h-a-n-e-l-l".

Such a nice melodic version. Thank you for improving all Uke player's Fridays. I've been working on this mixed as a medley with "Stay" and friend Phil Doleman suggested that in "Hey Baby" it was fun to replace Am and F in the "doo wop" sequence by their Nashville system alternatives of A7 and D7. So the sequence goes C, A7, D7, G7, repeat. Works well and brings a nice variation to the song.

Hi Harry...glad you're getting over the lurgy but sorry to hear it's left you deaf in one ear .☹️.... Roz's hearing has also been affected. Each chord in the song is usually 2 beats long in the chorus apart from the final C which is held for 4 beats. In the verse each chord is 4 beats....but ..the easiest thing to do is just print off the free music and play along with us....you should naturally "feel" where the chord changes are....it just comes with practice...have fun and a great Easter..🐤🐣👍💕🎶🎵
