Fridays is 10x better than SNL. This is at least 1000, especially since this came on when a lot of people hated SNL for not being as good as it was in the 1970s.

Nigel Saunders: Hear, hear. I'd go out even less than I do now if a master set became available.
@Neville600014 жыл бұрын
I second that request; unfortunately, the physical media industry seems to be dying, and even _if_ it wasn't, there's problems in getting _SCTV_ onto Blu-Ray (or 4K) in a complete box set, namely music rights (the 'Stairways To Heaven' sketch, plus a few others) and also appearently Dave Thomas doesn't want the first season on DVD/Blu-Ray because he was labeled 'The Beaver' in the opening credits.
@videoplusdvd3 жыл бұрын
They never bothered to pay music rights during the series, even during the Network 90 years on NBC. Like WKRP, this makes the prospect expensive, if not impossible. Also since the series is mastered on videotape, it will never be any better than 480p resolution
@almostfm3 жыл бұрын
@@videoplusdvd No, they paid them (if you use the music, you've got to pay the rights). What they found (at least with WKRP) was that when they were going to release them on home video, most of the bands upped the licensing fees a huge amount-the producer of the show said one of the bands wanted something like 100k to use their music on the VHS releases.
@videoplusdvd3 жыл бұрын
With WKRP being shot on videotape, music rights were much cheaper vs, film. It’s when the licenses ecpired that things got messy and the soundalikes hit syndication runs.
