Always great to hear real country music from the legend himself. This is a must know bass song for every country band bassist.

Thank you for covering this great song. It's one of the first songs I learned when I started playing bass. It's interesting that there are no walk-ups or walk-downs.

My pleasure! Yeah you'd think there'd be a walk up or two but at least it makes it perfect for beginners.

I loveitz! I need it nice and easy as a new bass player. I used to sing this with my band, but never with an instrument.

Awesome. Glad you like it and welcome, fellow bass player! I have a beginner friendly playlist that you may want to check out.

Who doesn't love the original. Wasn't he the start of using an electric bass and guitars? I think I read Honky Tonks were loud and the other instruments could not play over the crowd. Love his music.

Yeah I grew up on Sr. I'm not sure but I could certainly imagine him recording with the upright (like in this song) and playing gigs with an electric.

@@JCountryBass I was a little bit right. Bob Wills was one of the first country musicians known to have added an electric guitar to his band, in 1938. There were popular so they could be heard. But the bass came much later. It looks like the Beetles were one of the first groups to use them.
