This is where I sit in a one on one conversation with folks like you who have a special story about their Vintage VW restoration. Many folks just restore the bug at home, that is what is great about this little car. If you have a Classic Volkswagen that you would like to share with the audience, please contact me.

Just wow! I was born in '58, but this car looks better than me! My '64 sunroof was done last year. Body on due to excellent condition. I have Valone stuff on it too! Good job boys! West Texas.

Great vid Chris as always (and Joe) . I restored a '73 1300 beetle between 2012 and 2014. it is a show winner. Kept out of the rain and a sunny day driver. The paint shop has changed hands 3 times since then so when I saw "orange peel and blistering start on what was perfect paint I got in touch with local resto guys here who gave me the bad news. Whoever painted the car didn't spray sealer to the body before painting the filler coats! So the car is rusting under the 2 pack and will continue to deteriorate. Heartbreaking as I now face a $30K repair. I should sell and walk away but it is a keeper and a joy to drive. When it is redone it will be right for the next custodian although I am sure the family will never appreciate the cost after I am gone.

Hello Chris. I have a comment and a question. I realize that having original parts to install on your restorations are the best. But that some original parts can be very hard and expensive. Are there aftermarket parts that you prefer to use rather than the original parts? And do you already have a video on that? It would be interesting to see if you can do an episode on that if it has not been done yet.

Hey chris. Do most shops do front end alignments on the king and link pin front end? And if they do whats a fair price. I was thinking 3 to 4 hundred🤷

Sure, probably about right if everything goes as planned.

Westy Werks in San Luis Obispo, CA just did my king pins and link pins on my ‘64 Bug. The parts were $89.95 for the king pin kit and $191.13 for the link pin kit. Labor was $840 for removal and replacing the pins.

seems the paint job with 20 ot 25 k is three times as in Germany.
