The author of this song Adam Skirving a local farmer visited the battle site the same day it happened, after it ended. He wrote two songs about the battle this one and another one that described the battle in more detail.

@penderyn8794, the Picts became Scots. We are one nation now. If you wish to call us all Picts, including even Hebridæans, that's fine -your prerogative. Although non-Scottish, non-Pictish people claim otherwise, the Picts were very distinct from the Welsh and other Brittonic tribes on our Isles. The Picts were the first/1st people, perchance together with the Gaels, to arrive on the Brittonic Isles -the Welsh and others came after the Picts.

At 02:05 it should be Berwick not Dunbar. General Sir John Cope took the old Roman Road over Soutra before veering left for Berwick upon Tweed. The road to Dunbar was blocked by the Jacobites.

@@Imperial_Britannia Good or bad is an individual preference, but it is less than good factually (Chasing the deer is better). The depiction shown here of Prestonpans is way off the mark. The British army lines were properly drawn up but weren't up to dealing with the Highland charge. Generally the film is way too positive about BPC.

Funnily enough Prince William has Stuart blood in him through Princess Diana as there was an illegitimate child from Bonnie Prince Charlie’s father. So when prince William comes into power it will be the first King since James to have Stuart blood, granted he’s not the heir to the Stuarts line that falls to some German (ironically) but still funny.
