Oh the hell song 🦊🤘🛗 Great to see you're back with more BM songs, if you would have go to one of the live concerts in the 2019 US tour you would have heard this song in every setlist, but i don't think that's gonna happen again. This song is one out of four with only english lyrics. But you can also find the Japanese version which is among fans the favorite version. According to SuMetal this song symbolize the band's evolution of kawaii metal sound and shows the transition mature-adult side of BabyMetal for their 3rd album, i think Kagerou, Distortion and Brand New Day shows more that mature side but still I can enjoy this song only thing japanese version is more appeal to me since English version stay away from original meaning and concept, but anyway at least this song made it to radio broadcast on the US. Song is about the elevator job that apparently some Japanese building still have and taking this as an allegory of their own job, they can take you to heaven or to hell. But that doesn't necessarily means is bad, the girls learn from very early days that place or theme is more "fun", in the context of metal of course. 🤘 The English version was translated by Joe Inoue, another relatively famous Japanese/American songwriter singer known for "Closer" Naruto anime intro. He also got a vid talking about this translation focused more on the ups and downs in lifetime. Anyone might be surprised about using the word "b*tt" on the song but let's just remember they got songs like Sis Anger, although that isn't sing by SuMetal but Black Babymetal. Btw don't worry if this song reaction ranks low on views, because isn't the most appealing song in general, for me isn't bad but certainly I tend to listen other songs if I had to choose. Kano Fujihira is the avenger filling the third spot as a backup dancer in the official MV while in this live version at the Forum is Riho Sayashi. Next suggestion: - Tamashii No Rufuran (or Tamashii No Refrain or Soul's Refrain) live at Legend 1997, this is a SuMetal solo cover, it's been a while since someone reacted to it. Great reaction ... but did you find the English lyrics or a translation of the original Japanese version? They are not the same - the English version is not a translation of the Japanese version. This video had the English version (studio audio dubbed over the live performance - they were actually performing the Japanese version). The Elevator Girl ... I understand that once upon a time someone you would find in nearly every high rise building, department stores, office blocks etc in Japan greeting visitors, taking them in the elevator to their destinations, announcing what could be found on each floor etc. From a video I once saw the stiff legged walk in the choreo was how Elevator Girls would pretty much march in and out of the elevator as they escorted their passengers in and out. There may still be a few Elevator Girls, but they are few and far between now. This English version was written by an American-Japanese song writer and it is about life's ups and down, spinning round, life being a "pain in the butt" and so on. The original Japanese version is about taking a lady down 2000 levels to suffer in a Buddhist version of hell with a floor of red hot needles, she has no choice, and how the Elevator Girl is risking her own life just doing her job. The Japanese version is more popular in general with the fans - not because it is more meaningful (even though it is, the English lyrics are a bit lame and don't really match the choreo which was made for the original meaning of the song), but because the Japanese language version just scans better. Is it a favourite song of theirs for me? I like it a lot more now than I did - this was one of the very few of their songs that had to grow on me.

Haha nice! Fun one, grew on me after a while. Not sure if yall did From Dusk Till Dawn, but if not, check it out, somber song, with an epic key change to major in the end, and Su’s vocals at a ridiculously high register. Really beautiful performance! 🤘🦊🤘🦊

Just saw them live in Seattle and omg they are so much cuter in person. I also got within 7ft of Moa since I was at the front and she came over to the edge of the stage. We locked eyes she smiled and waved and I nearly died.

The lyrics have been changed a lot for the English version. The original has less of the life symbolism and more of literal taking you to the different stages of hell. :-) I like that a lot, because it's such a BABYMETAL theme. The concept of an elevator girl is as such very Japanese, and the idea of her asking you where you want to go and then taking you down to hell either way is a pretty Metal touch on it. :-)

Nice reaction. I totally dig that bass groove. And the little soldier march they did pass each other. Su and Moa would make faces at each other. Which this video caught really well. There's something funny about the faces they make at each other while on stage. Especially when you take into account Su's death stare. And then see them joking with each other. Kawaii even when the music goes heavy. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

This song was released as a digital single and I think many fans just were hoping for more out of a song in that position, and feared that this represented a new direction Babymetal was going in (a common, repeated, mistake) instead of just being itself alone. It didn't strike a chord and ended up feeling like a disappointment to many, while if it had just remained one of the tracks on the album and nothing more it probably would have more positive associations for people. So that's probably why it wasn't recommended to you. P.S. The original Japanese version also has much more evocative lyrics involving the 2000th basement burning Hell of stabbing needles, they used a translator who intentionally lightened it up for the English version, which was a separate release. AJ Hartley made a video about that if you're interested.

Great reaction, thanks! For once I'm gonna say that I don't like it... nahhh... it's just not among my top favorite songs. I rarely skip a BABYMETAL song. The elevator girl refers to an actual job: elevator operator on department stores and other big buildings. And it's a metaphor about mood swings on the English version or descending to Hell (or something) on the Japanese version. So, which one do you prefer? Hint: 😈 Until next time! 🤘🦊
