Yeah that's the funniest/oddly most wholesome aspect. It's like a reminder /a nostalgic callback to that time when as a kid you were gradually realizing that your fears of the dark & the Boogeymen are just. Kinda obnoxious and are not gonna actually harm you, they are just keeping you up pointlessly. You might or might not have the grasp yet at such a very young age that they are all not real in any way....that the dread you feel at 2am isn't based on anything physically there in the room that actually exists or can hurt you, it's just weird shapes of light and shadow; or feelings of boredom, anxiety, loneliness or existential dread. But you do reach an interesting point usually all on your own gradually, when your kid brain goes "well whatever, closet monster, come out or kill me or whatever if you want to, I don't even care, I'm way too tired.
