Hi everyone 🖤 both an Craite's helped now, and what an emotional rollercoaster of an ending!! Happy holidays to those who celebrate, and happy Wednesday to those who don't! Hope you enjoy the video, whenever you have a chance to watch 😁 take care, and I'll see you on Sunday for a certain creepy tower 👀 (Or on Friday for early access members!!) As always, a gentle reminder to refrain from backseating and be careful with spoilers!

Nilfgaard excels in drawn-out gwent games, simply because you have the most amount of spy cards, meaning great draw and enough minions to control the board early game. It can also counter decks that can put out many cards in a short amount of time, like monsters and scoiatael can. I'm not surprised you like it :) Also, Roach always appears behind your back (meaning where you are not looking) due to her appearing out of thin air. If you want her to spawn in front, look back and call her. Merry Christmas to everyone reading!
@nyxandchill20 күн бұрын
I'm curious whether I'll enjoy Scoiatael and Monsters, considering the variability and more of a need for luck as well as skill 🤔 I'll check them out soon too but I want to enjoy the Nilfgaard deck for a bit longer first!! Roach also seems to appear from behind trees a lot 😂 and off bridges sometimes too 👀 Merry Christmas to you too!!
@paulspl258119 күн бұрын
Actually, NF excels here not because of the amount of spies (which is the same as Northern Realms) but because of the amount of medics, as well as the superior leader cards (specifically, the one that lets you draw a card from the opponent's discard pile and the one that allows you to look at 3 cards from their hand)
@therealnmsis19 күн бұрын
@@paulspl2581 I meant their number as a whole, counting the heals from the medics and including the take from discarded ability with which I was playing most of my Nilfgaard games, but yes I was imprecise, my bad.

Yes - I trusted her as well You're right - that locked room you tried to go in had the back of the oven in it - an open hole that the baby was simply passed through Merry Xmas! (babies being put in ovens - almost as festive as the Eastenders xmas special ...)

Yeah I certainly chose the day for it 😭😂
@Acer098021 күн бұрын
Really glad you chose to side with Cerys here, I know some who refused to put the baby in the oven and that honestly just makes the whole quest feel useless if you get what I mean? This is her moment to prove herself and trusting her judgement is part of the process, if you decide to just simply fight it off instead it renders her entire storyline moot. Geralt might have done the legwork but it was ultimately she who formulated the plan that outwitted the demon and drove it off. Nothing quite beats the feeling of doing it though, it's been years since I first played it and I still remember the emotional rollercoaster of shock, horror, regret and finally relief.
@nyxandchill20 күн бұрын
Yeahh I can see that making the quest feel pointless, but its still a full on decision 😭 I didn't cry during filming but I shed a couple tiers editing because of the relief after the fact, its a powerful quest and I'm glad Cerys was able to prove herself but hoo boy what a rollercoaster

@katazi_19 күн бұрын
I just noticed that after geralt puts the baby in the oven, he casts quen on it right before he fights the jarl's men
@emmanuel133719 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's a very weird use of Quen that has no precedent in the books or games and never happens again as far as I remember. I'm sure something like that would've been useful in many ways if it was an actual functionality of that sign in CDPR's canon and appear at other points, so I think it isn't really supposed to be a thing and the developers might've just been pressed for time for a way to effectively lock the furnace door in this quest and used it for convenience.
@nyxandchill19 күн бұрын
I feel like Aard would have worked better, maybe as an attempt to mess up the lock so it wasn't possible to reopen. I think during the moment I assumed it was Aard as quen felt a bit disjointed with Udalryk trying to open the door moments later

Shroëdinger’s Cat, that is so cool! I have a joke about that. Werner Heisenberg and Erwin Schroëdinger are stopped by a cop on the highway. The cop goes to Heisenberg (the driver) and says, “Did you realise you ere doing 60mph in a 40mph zone?” Heisenberg slaps his head, “Damn! Now I don’t know where I am.” The cop opens the boot and pulls out a box. After a few moments he comes back and says, “Do you realise you have a dead cat in a box in your car?” Shroëdinger winces and says, “Well, it is now!” 😂

Yen is grumpy, arrogant, authoritarian and inflexible, so the relationship needs to be based on a hierarchy and her "Majesty" cannot be challenged or contradicted. Everything is an excuse for discussion or a scowl. I have nothing against occasional sarcasm or debate, but I fear that Geralt will have to choose between preserving his mental health and his autonomy or continuing to be with Yennefer. She offers a definition of a toxic and unstable relationship.

Regarding "treerminsulby" there's been various theories advanced that CDPR QA left it in because they found it funny, but I think it's actually an Yggdrasil reference. An Irminsul is a "great pillar", often or even usually a great tree that was left in place even after it died. Irmin is one of the names of Odin, it's a Saxon variant of Jǫrmunr ("mighty one"). Ygg, "terrible", is another name of Odin. Yggdrasil, the world tree of Norse and Germanic mythology, is literally "terrible steed" and thus "Irminsul" is equivalent "mighty steed" and is supposed to have been euphemistically applied to hanging trees because Odin was hanged in Yggdrasil by one leg to attain his otherwordly knowledge. If you put some spaces in "treerminsulby" it becomes "tree [e]rminsul by", which I think is just a CDPR-style altered spelling of "Irminsul" to "Erminsul". The lack of space between "tree" and "erminsul" may also be deliberate, pointing out the compound nature of Germanic words "tree-mighty-steed", but it may just as easily be a typo given the lack of a space between "[e/i]rminsul" and "by". But basically it's an Odin and Yggdrasil reference with some deliberate or accidental typos.

I always thought that the trick was a bit risky, in that it hinged on Geralt feeling (strong) remorse and guilt although he's a witcher that (supposedly) has no emotions. And after "the deed", he didn't seem particularly upset about it unlike Udalryk who seem to have quite strong feelings about it... So the (failed) trick could've made the Hym's bond stronger, or something. And great to see you continuing the play-through! 😄👍
@nyxandchill19 күн бұрын
That's entirely fair!! I definitely felt a bit too aware that it was a trick, but the rollercoaster of emotions at the end with the pure relief from both Geralt and Udalryk was arguably enough to banish the Hym 🤔 Thanks!! I'm glad I took a moment away but very glad to be back to it 😊

lol, you were so worried about the baby when you saw him first, then threw him into the oven! 😆 Cerys trolling Team Yen is so funny, especially if you play this quest after the Last Wish. 😉Cerys clearly has a point. Sadly, the conversation about Yen is the same, even if you already broke up with Yen. Oh well... Team Neither ftw! 😉

This one quest I found really great besides the trick part. It felt too obvious that it's a trick for the hym. How would Geralt not know and thus how would the hym actually switch hosts ? Maybe I'm too nitpicky but if you just planned to trick a hym your brain kind of automatically assumes that everything out of the ordinary is a trick ? Idk

Yep, thats what happens when a creator is doing a very timeconsuming degree alongside their hobby. Only recently has KZbin become a focus for me. I'm constantly thankful for the people who have continued watching my playthrough even after long breaks while I focused on assessments and my dissertation! I really hope you consider the possible reasons behind slow uploads before you next comment something this unnecessary :)

What exactly is the rush? The game is 10 years old. It's an amazing game, well worth taking time over. I'm glad that @nyxandchill is taking her time and balancing it with living her life instead of rushing the game. I just don't understand why some people seem to need creators to rush through things, I much prefer that creators take their time and actually enjoy the game.
