@@supahx1421 Yup, meanwhile over here I am someone who regularly uses Adobe products, and I daily drive Linux. Wanna know how I use Adobe products when I need to? Dual booting and/or VM's with GPU passthrough depending on whether I'm on my laptop or desktop. It's not ideal cause I still have to interact with Windows, but I'm not locked out of Adobe's products just because I prefer to use an OS they refuse to develop for.

Updates on Linux are more frequent than windows, but very rarely require a restart, if ever. They just run in the background on your terminal. It's absolutely amazing! I went back to windows on my thinkpad to downgrade my bios for 1vyrain and I forgot just how horrible it really was. Linux was the best switch I ever made.

I love windows because it remimds me to always save my work, last friday I had a program rendering for two and a half hours when Windows suddenly restarted for a very important update. But luckily I was used to that and had saved all my parameters, so I could relaunch as soon as I had logged back in without configuring all the settings. That saved me at least ten minutes of work.

I totally agree with you, WT. All the freedom Linux distros provide just sucks. I wish I were confined in a more sandboxed experience that guides me through every aspect of my life without me having to worry about all those complicated things. I cannot understand why people would want to spend time on thinking themselves if they can just pay companies like Microsoft and Google to think for them. What a world to live in. I really hope those Linux guys get a grip on their lives man.

For me the two things that put Windows above Linux are the spyware and force updates. It gives me an amazing feeling of warmth knowing that Microsoft is constantly watching what Windows users do and that they have backdoors into every Windows system that allow them to do whatever they want. And the forced updates are great. I love it when stuff breaks due to unnecessary updates, not to mention all of the new, zero-day vulnerabilities introduced with every update. Who wants to be able to harden a system against known vulnerabilities when they can waste bandwidth on downloading perpetual new vulnerabilities that they don't even know about?

One BIG valid point here is about that linux community. We want everything for "free" which actually slow adoption and make soft buggy, non-tested etc. Open source needs some kind of funding for developers in order to make soft better quality while in the same time being free and open.

One area where Windows does spank Linux is the file manager programs. If you've used Directory Opus on Windows you'll know there's nothing that comes close to it on Linux. That said, I enjoy the Linux distros and am glad it exists!

Of course, a good example is MS Project. You can really see the big price tag is justified by all the major changes and optimizations they bring to the app with every new version since 2013.
