This cover really makes the song stand out for what it is which is heartbreaking. Such a haunting voice. Thank you, Ms. Devlin, your talent is unmatched.

That's what I always love about your covers JD, you just get it, anyone can sing a perfect replica of the original like it's Karaoke, but what makes a great cover is when the artist takes the song and reshapes it in their own image, the fusion of the original's lyrics with another artist's style is what makes them truly memorable, and you just consistently knock that out of the park
@aliceglover5973 Жыл бұрын
I totally agree! Anybody can replicate the song exactly, but Janet always connects with the true meaning of the lyrics and puts a more melancholic spin on it!
@SoulPhoenix316 Жыл бұрын
@@aliceglover5973 And always does it in unexpected and subtly intellectual ways, whether it's the style of backing track, vocal intonations and stresses, or lyrical changes like with the frankly astounding Barbie Girl cover she posted recently

Artists who cover other popular songs need to further the discussion so to speak, make it their own while still respecting the original song. Janet does this well - love that about her!

Absolutely fkn brilliantly amazing!!! Her voice makes the hair on my arms stand up. I literally go into trance. I would melt like ice cream if she ever sang to me face to face. The most underrated super talent I have ever ever come across and such a beautiful face to match the voice and the Humbleness in her ora. Never Stop Janet ever.

You're so right - when you think of the original it's quite hard to see past the really upbeat music and video to what is going on underneath. I feel yet again you show just what a really stunning talent and skill with music you have by taking the song and matching the mood with the music - it just turns into something so different and moving and very beautiful. Heavenly stuff from a heavenly human being

Polaroid released a statement when this song was first released saying that not only don't you need to shake them, but in fact, you shouldn't because it could damage them. But yes, shaking them definitely used to be a thing. Another great example of making a super poppy upbeat song so sad.

Everytime I look into your eyes I see and feel the same pain (even back in the Your Song Audition). Mental Problems will always be a part of our lives. I hope it's just what I see and not your reality. If it is you're not alone, no one with mental health problems is. Even though in the darkest moments we feel like there is nothing in the world that can help and change our Situation, but at least for me knowing I'm not alone with my struggles helps alot.

Being in denial makes you happy you deny the reality in which you aren't happy, so logically you end up being happy. And if that doesn't work remember the wonderful world of drugs. You did well but it was also within your range, it's so much better when your voice doesn't crack.

Request - Everytime By Britney Spears 😬 Plenty of opportunities for those quality register flips and to let the accent come through. I did my own cover a couple of months ago (albeit the Lewis Capaldi version) and there's something really satisfying about singing this one, maybe you'll know what I mean if you give it a try, but it's a class tune

This arrangement was on The Voice Van Flaanderen in 2016, and it has been available on iTunes ever since. The contestant's rendition was so raw and heartwrenching it captured my attention in a second. I'm just wondering who made the arrangement? Was it the Flamish contestant? I would appreciate if the ACTUALLY guilty people were credited, basic decency. People tend to let you assume that "yeah, I came up with this" while they're riding on a stolen horse. As has been verified looking at this comment section. That is low.

Like Janet, Planet, Stankonia's on ya 3k and Big Boi are the GOATS, and I stand by that. Completely changed the game, and they're both SUCH good lyricists. Now that the door has been opened, I want you to cover , like, every Outkast song 😂 You nailed this buddy. Normally when people take song with sad lyrics and an upbeat lyrics and sing it sad it's like " yeah that's the point", but you always manage to add to songs instead of just going "the lyrics are actually sad tho". Love it my guy ❤❤
