Advice from a nurse and a nurse practitioner. I have been both an RN and a NP and my best advice to you is find some nurses you can shadow before you make a decision on what kind of nurse you want to be. Nursing roles vary greatly from a desk job to flying air rescue. All have pros and cons. Some questions you might ask yourself. Do you want shift work, do you like working in difficult situations, can you deal with poor outcomes? Ask nurses around you what they like and don’t like about their jobs. We nurses definitely have opinions about our jobs. FYI: we do say that working with people with mental health issues can break you down leading to some personal mental health issues. Forty hours a week…. Make sure you are doing something you love. Choose a lifestyle no just a career. PS: I loved my nursing and NP roles

I second this. I am not a nurse, but I managed an urgent care throughout the pandemic and now I manage employee health nurses for a large health care system. Completely different types of nurses and work ethics. Employee health nurses do not perform patient care and mostly are in an office focused on regulatory compliance, needle sticks, exposures, yearly flu campaigns, new hire vaccinations, etc. Huge difference between interacting with patients and not knowing what to expect from day to day vs corporate nurses who are more behind the scenes, but still extremely vital to companies. Brailee mentions being a psychiatric nurse which sounds interesting, but I’ve also heard the stories and seen the injuries that can happen in the behavioral health departments. I sometimes get “light duty” nurses from workers comp who need to have specific work restrictions for a certain amount of weeks due to their injuries from patients in those departments. That is not an easy job and I respect anyone who can do it, but I’ve seen a lot of nurses transfer out of there because they can’t handle it.

if brai wants to be a nurse I highly highly recommend being a CNA first! It makes you such a stronger nurse and nursing school is so much easier when you have hospital experience!!! and you get paid pretty good at the larger hospitals!!!!

Hey don’t mean to be patronising at all but you really need to get airflow under her bed! Mattress on the floor can be a breading ground for mould and nasties even just a little platform or something instead of a whole frame would be a smart idea! ☺️☺️☺️ have a happy Christmas! xxx

How long does it take for mould to grow cause I have had my mattress on my floor for about 2 years now and haven’t got mould. It’s on carpet too which I feel would be worse
@basschica

@@Paintressdepends on the moisture/humidity and air of the space. I'd be more concerned for basement level bedrooms than a 2nd floor or if the room shared with laundry space kind of thing.

What would you recommend for the airflow? I have a mattress on the floor for 5 yrs but luckily my state is very very dry so no mold yet. But I want to put something under in the near future!

Lol...I have a 17yr old and samething- he wants and has his bed on the floor. We are financially capable of having a bed frame/suite but nope🤣 he won the battle! I offered the platform as well. It's his space, not mine. I just close my eyes when I walk by....jk.

@@tbc543 ok I wasn't totally serious I was mainly referencing the part of the vlog where she was wishing to stay at home after her trip and "retire" but still go to school for cheer and nursing and Kayli was like "we're having a baby you can't move!" It was all in jest perhaps but I could see Brailee wanting to still stay close to home to go to college ...

I don't think her coming home early was a good reason to not have her room done up ready for her return. You guys literally had MONTHS lol I also feel it was a little bad to allow the other kids to use her private space while she was away. She's an adult now and other people shouldn't really be going in her room without her permission. Other people messed her room up and she had to come back to that. I personally, would have been a little disappointed. It's about respect. Just my opinion 🤷‍♀️
@HeyKayli
@HeyKayli 11 ай бұрын
Her room was perfectly fine, the same as it was when she left. Also, I've been sick with this pregnancy pretty much the whole time. It wasn't at the top of my list of things to get done. Brailee did tell Layla she could use her things and go in her room while she was gone and we talked about it every time we talked. There was a toy and a pair of shoes left in there. She didn't care at all!

Her room looks like rest of her house. She needs to hire a house cleaner to come in every other week. It’s a way of keeping mom on her toes. I have someone that comes in twice a month and I am forced to do a little cleanup before she gets to the house. It’s discipline them I might otherwise not have. And the kids are responsible for cleaning up before the cleaning lady gets there. And if that’s not happening, then you’re not doing a good job teaching your children granite this is not the most important thing in the world but a little self discipline goes a long way.

@@HeyKayli You do an amazing job Kayli. Don’t listen the naysayers/trolls. You are a great mom and wife and the end of the day that’s what matters. Not a picture perfect house. You have a sweet family. We know you haven’t felt well during this pregnancy but you have done a wonderful job. We all need to show Kayli love and support. Not negativity. With much love.
