Brai Brai I know you will have a speedy recovery. Remember that even when you think you are okay try your best to listen to the doctor or your recovery will take longer. I had a friend in soccer have the same tears from a knee to knee collision and she kept walking on it and made her recovery process longer. You also have a great mom who takes care of you! Love the entire family. Your personalities are so pure

in america listening to the doctors a bad idea how she got in this mess better to listen to her body and rest i think the xray might be right a good chance because of the bankrupt hospitals like with the foot wrong but anyways she needed to rest instead of work and i think that caused some of the issues i say ignore the american doctors try to find one in another country and ask them questions

Tip from a hospital Physiotherapy assistant here: when going up and down stairs with crutches if you're allowed to put weight on your operated leg, hold onto the rail if you have one, and remember that the good leg (non operated) goes up first when going up the stairs, and bad leg (operated) goes down first when going down the stairs. Sending love!! Also, the cryocuff is fantastic, use it lots!

I hope you have a speedy recovery!! I am just a year fresh out of ACL surgery myself! I got it back in May 2020 before the pandemic started! Just keep icing and definitely keep up with all the PT tips and exercises at PT and at home and you’ll feel better in no time!

She is doing amazing and even just getting up the stairs is a huge accomplishment. It’s a step in the right direction big time. I had the same surgery as her and slept on the couch for a lil longer then a week so she is doing amazing. I recommend for the shower if you don’t have a bench in it to buy some type of chair so she can sit down is she needs to rest so she doesn’t fall this was a huge help with me. Also Ik it might seem to her she’s not doing well because she is struggling to do little things but it will go by so fast and before she knows it she will be walking and bending her knee. You got this and keep your head up.

I had the exact same surgey on my knee over a year ago! But my meniscus was torn right through (bucket handle tear) and I had an ACL reconstruction. The first week was super painful for me but it gets better! It is a tough recovering more so mentally beacuse it is so frustrating not being able do all the normal things. But in the end it is SO worth it and before you know it you will be looking back glad that you went through it all. All the best! Xoxo

I had the same surgery when I was 17 and missed my junior year season of soccer! You got this and you’ll come back stronger! Best advice: work hard in physical therapy when you get to that point, it sets you up for a strong recovery :) 5 years later and I have no issues with my knee!
@fzzypurpleturtle3 жыл бұрын
I had 2 foot surgeries last year with 6-8 weeks of bedrest for each and it is really hard to be immobilized. The recovery hurts absolutely but in the moment it feels like forever. Then physical therapy feels like forever. But honestly and truly when you get out of the rough season it becomes easier to forget the drudgery

I just had acl surgery it definitely is not fun for the first like 5-6 days then its starts to get better from there! I’m now a month post op and doing everything on my own that i did before surgery, just not the obvious things like running. I pray that you have a nice fast recovery, and just know you are not in this alone! I felt that it was gonna be so so hard and don’t get me wrong it is difficult but not as difficult as I thought but everyone is different i thought you would like hearing from someone who has also gone through the same thing! So i hope you are inspired by this. Those 9 months will go faster than u know it!

Brailey please keep listening to your doctor’s instructions for recovery as you will be that much more ahead. You have such a supportive and caring mom who is there for you always and wants the best for you and continue to be grateful for her being that way. I love that doctors tend to err on the side of caution with pain medication, especially when giving them to young teenagers. We have such a big painkiller addiction worldwide & it truly can happen to anyone from any walk of life, education never hurts! Painkillers serve a purpose but it’s really good to be informed. I’m in longterm morphine for 2 chronic genetic disabilities, but I’m under doctor care, i push through pain daily because I don’t enjoy taking it but some days / weeks I can’t function (pain wise) & have to be sensible. It’s sad that at 34 / nearly 35 I’ve found myself in this position. I weighed up all options & tried everything before going down this route, it’s actually nice to hear doctors take it seriously & give warnings about the dangers. Brai has been so brave, she’s a tough cookie! Xx

I have had 4 knee surgeries and I’m 29! 16,18, 27(I had two) you can do it. Use the ice machine like crazy!!!! And moving your leg hook your ankle on your good leg to the bad leg and move it that way! The physical therapy is key! You can do it! I find that the ice machine was better then the pain meds. When ever it hurt I iced it.

It will get better every day , hang in there ! Do everything your Dr says to do don’t rush it . Count your days for getting your stitches out . I had reconstructive surgery in the middle 80s ( yes I am old ) I have a big ass scar with 29 staples . Your scar looks great . They have much better technique today than they used to have . Good luck ! Get a cast cover to keep her leg dry works much better than plastic bags .

I didn't know that there were multiple small incisions from that kind of knee surgery, and I have have one long incision. I am praying that Brailee's recovery goes super smoothly. I am very impressed with how Brailee is off of prescription pain meds, and how all she needs at that point is Tylenol. I’ve had many surgeries in my life and brailees incision looks better than any of mine did, especially after three days. I’ve had brain surgery and spine and both of those incisions looked narly for a while. It looks like she’s doing great though. Just keep up on the pain meds and you’ll be fine lol. The little things like getting up to go to the bathroom and showering may not seem like much but it’s good to do those things. I have very fond memories of my recovery periods even though I was high on pain meds lol.

As a person thAt has had acl surgery that is to stay on for a week and with the surgery area that is to remain covered until examined by the doctor. The bandage that is there is to give protection for the knee and the muscle area handling without gloves is not wise.
