It depends on what you are doing, whether or not the macbook air is a better value or not. no sd card, no usba, no egpu. no hdmi No ability to upgrade the ssd to 2GB samsung faster ssd for $250, instead of $800 apple charges. Way more app compatibility, and you can go back a version of os. yes the 8 cores will be better than 4 in almost all benches, but this will play many games better, natively, without going through loops, and crazy software, less bugs. And you have way more options for screens, touch and non touch, 1200P or 4k. and 2 full 4K monitors, no problem. The list prices is about a $200 difference, until you add ssd storage, and ram, then the macbook air is no longer a bargain, and any repair needs a new mother board, only available from apple, as it is basically a iphone with 2 tb3 ports a keyboard and screen. And has thick bezels from yester year, and a dimmer screen, but more sharp. Really they are both great, if you do not mind a lot of compromises and limitations, and just want the fastest benchmarks, or do a ton of 4K video editing and which apple has all of the decoders, and encoders for, than sure get the mac. If you want a better balance around, with less limitations and dont 4k video edit all day, the Razor is just as capable if not more so.

@Phase10Minecraft yea I worded it wrong🙄 No with alderlake and others using cinebench instead of Geekbench which does not see threads in it's multicore benchmarks for some reason. The Intel alderlake are the fastest, at this price range but like apples media engine for video editing protest and the like which apple owns, so apple might still win on some video benchmarks unless they can use quick sync or you have an dedicated gou It appears at this price range and will have the best integrated graphics in gpus if ces was true.

Another apple ad.😕 Was this a video about the Razor, or Apple Macbook Air? No egpu, no ssd upgrade, no touch screen option, no ports, no dedicated gpu options. The Air has no sd card, and you are complaining about a micro one. Price, once you add the ports to an air you are at the same price, and you can buy a 2TB ssd as fast as apples, for $200, that's $800 on the air. This is also repairable, and there are parts available for it, you do not have to go through one company. Sure its 8 core is faster than the 4 core, big deal this is an ultra book that has more than enough power for light 4K editing, where the special decoders and encoders of the M1 macs will beat it, and everything else, with far more app compatibility, less bugs, so you can get work down without adapting to the computer, or using only a manufacturers certified apps, on only one operating system version and no option to go back a version or two..

@patjustpat81783 жыл бұрын
It's overpriced when compared to HP maybe, but Razer hasn't cheaped out in critical places. E.g. vapor chamber cooling? Performance beats that of the MSI Prestige 14 Evo, which packs a superior i7-1185G7. Also, 16:10 touch, 550 nits... If your criteria for pricing is "[X CPU] ultrabook" you should take a minute before publishing reviews.

Thats not an answer to apple at all, if anything its their own design, mixed with the dell xps 13 aesthetics, looks nothing like the big bezel usbc only macbook. And its semi upgradeable, and nvme fast ssds are cheap now, about $100 for each terabyte.

Awesome video Mark! A nice laptop, but priced very high for the specs as you mentioned. I'd go for the Asus rog flow x13 instead (wich has a GTX 1650) and a 4K display for the price (and 2-in 1 laptop). But that one is also high priced because for the same price you can get RTX 2000 or 3000 series laptops.

@@Tigerex966 Razer has become the new apple. Their prices are pretty ridiculous. For just a simpleton who consumes media, the macbook air is by far the best value computer. Also, the new macbooks seem to be much more efficient. thus requiring less ram than their windows counterparts. Apple also destroys any Windows laptop when it comes to battery life, which on an ultraportable, is probably the most important aspect.
@Tigerex9663 жыл бұрын
@@brandon3494 true to a point however apple and microsoft ram and ssd upgrade prices, with no option to do it yourself is even worse, and they keep their old design for way too long, remember the prior air, and this one is still rocking the intel exact case. Again if you want a 2TB drive that $800, 1TB thats $600, 512, thats just 256gb more thats $200 more. So its $1999 for a Apple Macbook Air with 16GB, and 2TB SSD. no 4K , no touch, no ports, no egpu, no hdmi, no sd card, no usba only one 4K monitor. Thats just highway robbery, especially now since Apple is using the same exact intel chassis, and with their own iphone chips, this probable cost than next to nothing with their $7 a month slave labor. Now that is highway robbery. Having said that the base models are an excellent value, if you are ok with a totally disposable, unupgradeable, and mostly unrepairable laptop, with very few native apps, and incapability with a ton of apps, bugs, and growing pains, no egpu support, yet, and lack of ports. Yes their 8 cores will beat, almost any 4 core, its not the fastest mobile cpu in single or multi core, but the base models are excellent buys, not so much for the loaded models, when you look at all the disadvantages, and limitations, and away from 4K benchmarks and speed.

@@Tigerex966 I'm actually a Windows guy but Apple completely killed it with their M1 processors. It's pretty hilarious that Windows ARM runs better on a virtual M1 machine than it does on Windows natively lol You're right about the price of upgrading SSD. No complaints there. Keep in mind, most Windows laptops are 1080P while Macbooks are 2K which I think is a happy medium. 4K is overkill on a 13 inch plus the hit to the battery life is just not worth it. Touch on a laptop is meh, my friend has one and I always see fingerprints all over the display. It's a hot mess lol Many of the Windows laptops have the same issues you stated. Most are not upgradeable and have limited ports. The one thing I will definitely agree with you on is lack of eGPU. That sucks on Apple's part. Overall though, Apple brought some much renewed competition to Intel/AMD/Windows and that's great for us, the consumer.
