Heyr Himna Smiður - Emerelle (Music Video) | Icelandic Hymne | Acapella Cover

I filmed the video back in April when I was in the Dolomites in Northern Italy. Most of the scenes are on a mountain pass called "Sellajoch". The beautiful lake you see is famous "Lago di Carezza". It was off-season so there were almost no other people. But also, it was bitter cold which made filming a bit hard. Thinking I didn't get enough material I delayed editing it. Glad I did now though. Hope you enjoy 🤍🕊
As far as I know the lyrics of this song were written by a viking called Kolbeinn Tumason in 1208 and the music later composed by Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson in 1963. It's such a divine song and I fell in love with it immediately.

I read that a long time ago, some druids could hypnotize people with their songs, you with your images and your voice, you transport us to another world, to another time. We cannot remain indifferent. The Dolomites are made for you. They echo your soul so well. There is a book of poems that you seem to particularly like (Sulamith Wulfing by Rainer Maria Rike). Thank you Bruno for your wonderful words 🙏🏼 The book you mention I found by chance one day second hand. Sulamith Wülfing was a German artist (hadn't heard of her before either) and she painted beautiful pictures to some poems by R.M.Rilke - whom I adore. The book is handmade and quite old and I love it :) I also love the tails of druids and bards from the old ages.. have you ever read 'The mists of Avalon' by Marion Zimmer Bradley? All of her books are full of the magic of the oldern days! I am very very happy if I hear that a tiny bit of that old magic may travel through my art into this time 🤍🕊

I wanted to say that i too have dropped out of university ,i also studied classical singing and for similar reasons like you on my spiritual journey dropped out as it no longer felt right. Evening Emerelle; the world of youtube can be unfair at times. Silly movies get 1000s of views; while a well-crafted video like this has not got any big traction. This is a cinematic performance and a wonderful fusion of music and images!
