@decimusvitae In Israel same-sex marriages are recognized by the state. The reason the law was never passed regarding the approval of marriages within the country itself is mainly because there are many religious people in the parliament over the years who are unfortunately not happy with it. As long as people marry in another country, then the State of Israel recognizes the marriage. It is not as complicated as people think in other countries to do it. Usually everyone flies to Cyprus which is a 40 minute flight and gets married and returns. It can even be done in one day. Because it is so close you can get married in the morning and already in the evening you can have a wedding party with family and friends.
