Im experienced with ducks previously hatched cayuga and magpie ducks , would you say as pets which would be better the welsh harlequin or a mascovy ? , thanks 😊

I’ve never had either…but I do know those that had Muscovy’s and they were good pets!

How big do the eggs get?

Although the ducks are smaller than many, the eggs are classified as "large" which is a little larger than an extra-large chicken egg.

The breed is known to be very good at sitting & hatching eggs, and make great mothers. Broodiness can vary from duck to duck, and occasionally a duck just doesn’t seem interested in hatching eggs.

I have a mixed flock of khaki Campbell and Welsh harlequin. The main difference I notice between the two is the kc ducks are more nervous and skittish whereas the wh ducks are more aggressive about meeting a threat. I wouldn’t call Welsh harlequin ducks calm. Mine aren’t.
