When I was teaching, I had to do playground duty on an wet oval covered in duck poo. The kids used to skid around in it. No matter what I did, I could not get that poo smell out of my shoes. The oval was so wet and full of tasty worms, wild ducks used to sleep in the tall gum tree branches to get at them first thing. It was weird seeing ducks in trees but I also discovered frogs in amongst the grass, so I suspect they ate them too. Only in Australia 😊😊

I think it's cool so many chicken and duck breeds were developed in the Northeast. I'm in New Hampshire 👍🙏✌

I have Anconas! They are pretty loud though. I used to have this tiny alpha hen who would sneak up behind me and then quack as loud as she could.

Once I get my well fixed I am going to get ducks, I think I would consider raising these if I can find fertile eggs

Speaking of ducks... we keep ducks, chickens, turkeys and geese. What would you recommend for feed when they're all kept together? They all seem to have different nutritional requirements and we're struggling a bit finding a solution. Thank you 🙏

They can all eat layer feed. You will need to add brewers yeast (5%) to the feed so the waterfowl can get the niacin they need.

I have Ancona they seem to have no parenting instincts they drop there egg where ever they are and just waddle away, I have 1 Muscovy hen with them that will gather the eggs into a cluch and make a nest to hatch them
