How do we get the certificate after completing the course? Is there any exam in HCI after completion of the course/ any project submission.

You don't have to give any exams in HCI. You'll be given a multiple HCI task to perform practically with your small team and present it in front of professors. And at the end of the course you'll get the certification.

Yes, most of the clients provides user data for your research. but if they haven't collected any data before, then you'll need to personally conduct research based on customer list they'll provide.
