It talks about Greek refugees (and refugees in general) and the bond between them and their mother - homeland, which remains strong , wherever they are my star Eyed my star Eyed My sweet mother, don't cry for me Even if they wear black I tore my body apart Flames do not defeat it The swallows of fire Seas even if they pass I root his soils They never forget My star-eyed little one Turn to kiss you In your holy tears My lips to erase My star-eyed little one My turn to catch you My forgotten wings I can hardly rest Oh my star, my jivaeri My sweet mother, don't cry for me My life is a boat Who is looking for the return Air my cloth My star-eyed little one My turn to catch you My forgotten wings I can hardly rest Oh my star, my jivaeri Oh my star, my jivaeri

@@esc.norway It's actually a dirge that, as far as I understand from the lyrics, is addressed to a mother mourning the loss of her daughter. It's just that some sites say it was inspired by the history of the Pontics and that it may have a hidden meaning, not about refugees in general, but about this specific historical event. I explain the meaning in another comment.

First of all, it is a mournful song with purely poetic traditional language. Its meaning may have many different interpretations. I read somewhere, for example, that it was inspired by the gen@cide of the Pontic Greeks in the 1910s (since she herself is Pontic by origin) and their forced refugee status in present-day Greek state. Reading the lyrics, I understand that the performer is addressing a mother who is mourning her dead daughter. The performer may be a third person, but perhaps the dead daughter herself.

"The World is Greece expanding" (Victor Hugo) This is how "jewels" and "jevaeria" like "Asteromata" (= Star- Eyed) are born, taken from the "tsieria" of the Greek psyche and destined to adorn the soul of the entire world. The "little asteromata" from Aspropyrgos, with the "Mouschouristic" glasses (which make her even more "asteromata"), the oriental "rhizomes" (in Pontus and Russia) and the Hellenized "Roman" name (Klavdia), will travel like a "swallow of fire" (see related myths) to the West ("foreignness") to share with her archaic crystalline voice, the timeless and universal pain of foreignness and separation in a sacred, mystical, both joy and sorrow way. The lyrics of "Arcade", "in the language that was given to us, Greek, on the sandy beaches of Homer", touch with their powerful images, repeated metaphors, verbal contrasts and all kinds of extensions, the most sensitive strings of human existence. In the dramatic responses of mother and daughter, with all our senses tense, we are introduced to the timeless drama of the separation of loved ones (mother and daughter), but also to the power of their love (the music beats seem like strong beats of a beating heart) that manages to tame the entire world, fire, air, earth and sea. With a song like this, you don't go ("emigrate") to win a Eurovision. You go so that Eurovision can win something!!! Have a good trip and a safe return "My little Asteromata" "wind in your sails"!

A unique song, like a diamond. Not for Eurovision stage, though. Remember that this has to be performed LIVE. Clavdia is a new singer, not such experienced and just like Amanda Tenfjord, she will "lose" it on stage. The song is difficult for live performance if we wanna hear it like we hear it now. Especially when the beginning of the song is acapella, just like Amanda's song.
