The best part about Gundam Asmoday is that it technically doesn't have a designated pilot. According to the bio, Gjallarhorn built the Gundam by the end of the Calamity War, but no one piloted it, not because it was a terrible mobile suit, it was just left empty for years. Canonically, as of now, Asmoday is pilotless, meaning anyone can pilot the prince of demons.

the fact the IBO still gets new designed kits that comes out gives me a slither of hope for a prequel movie or series about the calamity war like origin but much farther back edit: also kinda sucks that as IBO becomes a even more popular universe/series the more expensive the kits are but with the same or less quality kits (sometimes) an example being the increase of stickers and left out details such as the leg vents on this one when its shown that bandai is well capable of producing good IBO kits that isnt sticker heavy with a fair price

@@Alxlpziv resells are mad expensive cause of how good the design was and the amount of people wanting it, the new release IBO kits have the same or nearly the same price point as most UC or other universe lines because of the demand and design. IBO stood out to me before cause of the ridiculously low price point for such an amazing design so i guess the price increase was somewhat reasonable

My biggest disappointment with the master grade Barbatos is that other than the alternative versions of the basic Barbatos they haven't given us anything that uses that frame which is an amazing kit. I would love for more suits, such as this one, to be released as MG kits. The smaller scale just doesn't do them justice.

well... I do it myself when they don't make it... back in the day when I realized that some IBO kits didn't come with extra hands and you need to buy them separately I really buy A LOT of them (plus I buy a lot IBO kits for kitbash, so I stored the extras)... so... I have plenty of spare IBO hands... so... when this type of things happens... I GLUE THE SHIT OF THEM IN A SPARE HAND... so... I only change hands and boom... the fuking weapon don't rotate in the hand

I think as a nice unwritten rule you should topcoat any IBO kit and maybe use gundam markers for their cables in the frame. Deffo makes them pop

Would be pretty cool to have an ibo gundam that actually shows damage from the calamity war. So far the only gundams we saw that were Busted Busted were Barbatos Lupus Rex, Gusion Rebake Full City, Flauros, and Bael and Kimaris Vidar depending on ur view of the latter 2. Would be sick to see something with like an amputated arm from another MS or something like the Barbataurus that really deviates from the standard humanoid look

This design looks amazing, it reminds me to the G-Reco designs who are heavily based on big grills and a lot of panels around. But the almost different armor design style fits pretty well thanks to the Gundam Frame. Seriously, I'm very happy to see more and more Gundam Frames in this line.

That's probably because the mecha designer (Ippei Gyoubu) for some G Reco suits also designed IBO Frame suits. The same goes for Naohiro Washio designed suits - the Throne series and Barbatos' chests come to mind

I was not expecting to see the IBO lore progress further in 2022, but I am really glad to see more information on the Calamity war. Such a cool backdrop to the events of the main IBO story that regrettably we probably won’t ever understand fully.

I’m really glad I caught this today. I just bought my first Gunpla and planned on building it this weekend. I’ve got the IBO Astaroth HG kit and your tips for this build definitely informed me to the couple of extra things I should have on hand before getting started.

I found out if you also glue the waist polycap to the waist and if you tighten the leg pegs on the waist it becomes a very solid kit. I tried this on my HG Barbatos Lupus Rex and HG Bael and i'm no longer afraid to touch them. Quick note is that gluing the waist polycap wont cause bad articulation and you can still rotate the torso and bend forward and back with the Ahab reactor parts. Also definitely going to pick up this kit. Looks awesome!!

Looks like a cool kit even with the extra work needed. One thing I like to do to tighten the joints is apply a thin layer of super glue to the joint, let it dry, then connect the joint to the socket. Usually adds a bit of strength in a pinch when you don't have any top coat.

Well, I used nail polish on my own HG IBO kit, and even experimented with it a little bit if I could use it as some kind of adhesive, and it worked better than I expected it to.

I haven't seen any option sets since January of 2020 (at least in my hobby shop), I'm not sure when they'll hit the production line again eather, but IBO kits have been slowly coming back on the shelves so that's probably a good thing.

Mine just came in and I can't wait to build it. This may be one of my favorite Gundam designs of all time! I love the overall aesthetic, the color scheme and those awesome melee weapons! The hydraulic tonfa alone are some of the coolest weapons I've ever seen on a Mobile Suite. It really sells the agility and mobility of this thing. I tend to prefer Gundam designs that are sleek and agile over ones that are massive and clunky with tons of stuff hanging off of them, probably why I love the IBO designs so much. I'm definitely going to paint most of it though, there are ton of those awful wrap-around stickers. I really hate that they changed the English name for absolutely no reason. Asmodeus is a badass name and makes a lot of sense given it's named after a demon lord, there was no reason at all to change it to the ancient way of pronouncing the same name. Regardless, I absolutely love this thing and I'm so glad we're getting more IBO designs as IBO is my favorite Gundam series with my favorite Gundam designs. Seeing more kits and the recent trailer, it gives me hope that Urdr-Hunt might actually be a thing someday soon. I just wish it was a full-fledged anime and not just some kind of mobile game.

Hey Mecha ( or anyone else who's reading this) I just wanted to let you know. During your Barbataurus review you said you can make another Gundam using bottom half of Barbataurus. Maybe you can salvage some of the left over parts from Astaroth Renicimento ( and maybe some from this kit) and use it to make another Gundam using said bottom half of Barbietaurus

I am now curious if the Asmodeus never went into battle and still has all of its original parts, I wonder why are the thrusters on its calves look very similar to the Astaroth Rinascimento's right calf thruster, and the thin hexagon on its backpack also looks very similar to the ones on the side skirts of Gundam Astaroth (the 2nd version). When I saw Asmodeus before, I really thought that maybe its armor came from the same manufacturers as those used by the Astaroth, but I guess not. I know that the Bael and the Barbatos both have that power symbol on them, I just got curious since there are not many of those similarities on the other gundams in IBO

Option sets especially option sets for the barbatos are extremely rare nowadays. It's either out of stock or in an extremely high and very unreasonable price. Edit: option sets are sooo rare here in the Philippines that I literally gave up looking for one and just made my own set of guns and weapons for my barbatos lupus.

It might be late to share my thoughts but, my copy of the HG Gundam Asmoday, the polycaps are surprisingly tight as which it could eventually hold the Gigant Javelin with wires attached just fine, and the overall feel of the HG itself is also solid in my experience after building it. Though when I tried it with my HG Lupus, a newly build too, it has the typical IBO kit issues, but not the worse by any means. Otherwise, my copy of the Asmoday was very impressed in contrast of my Lupus for having a trouble holding its own Sword Mace, yet it's manageable nonetheless. So much experiments with the IBO kit along the other HGs outside IBO are fun to do, to ensure the stability of Gundam Frame is indeed to put a topcoat or put a tamiya plastic cement each ball joints from the arms and the feet. None shall hate these HGs, and it's okay to show and share our honest opinions about them, however, I am only the person who only dislikes Build Fighters and Build Divers kits.

They're really touch and go. I bought 2 versions of the astaroth to build 2 symmetrical versions of it. One kit was tight AF and the other one was super floppy.

Not gonna lie, I was really surprised that it really feels tight and stiff and some are floppy. I did a few test poses and it turned out to be fine without showing any signs of sagging, especially from the arm, however some couldn't handle the weight of some weapons as the forehand armor pops out in some occasions, but not the worst either as it's fairly easy to manage. Though, I always enjoy your videos so far, sir. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see your thoughts about the RG RX-93FF Nu Gundam!

Nice tips but to be fair, most owners don't put their models through as many ab crunches as you do. So they are less likely to have their kit pieces pop off in the middle torso.
