The master grade turn X is the most interesting kit I've ever built. Aside from that I've done the Ball, an ERG (Red frame), and IBO high grade. My still favorite build has to be the graze in the IBO line though, it's just so... Unique

When the standard HG, MG, or even the RE/100 kits become boring, I pick up an old school pre-HG/MG kit. Once you've finished an old school kit in which gluing, sanding, and painting is required (and sometimes also comes with a bonus of having terrible parts fit), coming back to modern day HG/MG kits is an absolute joy. :)

Never get bored with a gunpla. There are ton more to do on the details like seamless, waterslide, spray paint, add panel lines, & custom builds. The more deeper you get the more time you gonna spent on them. Even sanding down water marks and seamless take 6+ hours on a hg.

I recommend the Zock. It is an s tier high grade with lots of inner frame. And the most amazing thing is that it is completely symmetrical. You literally have two of every runner except the poly caps. It looks so good on your shelf too.

I have to say, my first kit was a HGEW Wing Zero Custom. It was cool but the quality didn't feel great. Tried building the MG Gundam Dark Matter Exia and that thing is a hand grenade. 2 bad kits but I wanted a good freaking kit so I tried the RG Sinanju... bad kits... then I built the Gun EZ and the HGBD Knight Gundam. I've built many more kits since then and I love it. Gaikotsu here is where I go before buying a new kit. Great stuff!

Seeing this video and you recommending the IBO High Grades really brings memories back to my first actual High Grade kit, and well first gunpla kit in general which was the Barbatos Lupus High Grade. Definitely made some mistakes like not noticing I was putting things on in reverse with the waist armor, but man was it a fun build for my first time round. One of my favorite kits that I put together, which is saying a whole lot for someone who hasn't put many gunpla kits together.

A lot of the kits released for the Zeta movies are really fun, the transforming ones especially. The Asshimar, Methuss, Gabthley and Gaza C are all incredibly unique. There's nothing quite like them, and they have perfect/near perfect transformations to boot.

Small size but tons of poseability, various kit interactions, and the ability to get good quality versions of figures from the past from properties like Power Rangers /Super Sentai, and right now I'm working on a Voltron kit.

My favorite unique build is the MG Z'Gok. It's not challenging at all but it's totally different from anything else I've built. Even the two different versions (red/blue) are slightly different from each other (I've built both). Just a very laid-back build and I recommend it to anyone.

The old MG from Gundam G is actually a Surreal experience. First of, it has screws, lot of screws. Second, it does not have policaps. But rubber parts. Ruber parts for arms, the sole of the feet to promote stability and fir side skirts. And it litteraly has a large figure of the pilot intead of the typical mini standing pilot load out. I mean, a pilot figure that is 3 2 to 3 inches tall? Its not the nest build experience, sure. But experiencing the old techniques of bandai design as i said is just a surreal experience that will make you marvel the simple engineering of the past and appreciate the greatness of the modern gunplad today.

Need another vid like this. Here are my 5 alternative recommendations: 5. RG#13 Zephyrantes Full Burnern How would you like to build probably the most unstable RG with a pre-mold inner frame and the tiniest thruster parts in all of gunpla? I’m not joking, but I also have to give it up to Bandai for making a very intricate mobile suit model with lots of tiny gimmicks. It’s a challenge, it splits in half when you move a limb and the stickers peel. There’s no upside, this is purely to appreciate how much better RG is now. 4. MG God Gundam/Master Gundam These screw kits are over twenty years old but the full inner frame articulation, for their time, was mindblowing. Screws, rubber parts, missing color separation and included figures make for a fun experience that has you appreciate how far gunpla has come! They’re actually decent kits, don’t be fooled. 3. HG Kshatriya Because we’re never getting an official MG. It’s a fun kit though, it’s just such a massive HG with some genuinely good design and a fun build. It’s good training for you painting detail, because the stickers are terrible, but at least they’re raised areas. 2. MG RX-78-2 2.0 aka the anime accurate OG Gundam How vanilla, right? Actually this kit is an often overlooked one by newcomers, mainly due to its deceptively plain exterior, but this is actually the point of it, it’s meant to look like it does in the show (minus the odd proportions) and comes with the silly gundam hammer and beam javelin, along with a bunch of stuff. It’s a genuinely great kit and build (generally most of the 2.0 kits are worth trying out). 1. PG RX-178 Mk-II Gundam This is a hard kit to assemble, you need to strip wires, figure out which length of metal chain goes where (and what end and the facing..!), the polycaps can be turned the wrong way, it’s a screw-kit that needs you to tighten the ankles exactly right or it’ll fall over (or you’ll strip the plastic) and the exterior is quite plain, almost like a Mega Size kit. So why recommend it? Because when I built the recent PGU, I was absolutely bored with it. It’s too easy to build, it all goes together easily and is a flawless and painless experience. You have to EARN getting the Mk-II done, but it looks absolutely menacing and makes the PGU look like a twerp next to it. It has 739 parts, it has a very intricate inner frame, tons of hatches/gimmicks, a decent loadout, a simple on/off light (no extra LED required and no jerking the hatch to switch modes like the PGU) and it feels like Bandai put actual love and dedication into designing it, like they were exploring the limits of what they could do. The joy of this kit really is the challenge and feeling of satisfaction that you won’t quite get with modern gunpla. Also the ankles have suspension springs. Because why not.

i feel like your recommendation for older kits are mainly suited just for those that just started getting into this hobby. for those that has been around the entire time started with the first MG RX78, we all know what older kits are like. As you mentioned the EZ-8, it was a very advanced kit when it came out and was massively popular that spawned several camo printed version and special editions.
