Most homes up North have mudrooms. No one enters through the front doors directly into the living room.

Very beautiful, but they lost a lot of their dining space. Would have loved to see the bathroom which took a lot of the kitchen/dining space.

me too, really wanted to see the bathroom, and the shower in it. Very clever to have shared part of the wall length to have the shower in one section and the kitchen pantry in the other.

FYI some people REALLY hate walking in the front door and seeing all the way through the house. Of course thieves really like it.

I'd think at least first attempting to see if matching flooring is available would be the best use of money. The stuff is mass produced! The savings could go towards a deck or pool or addition or lawn mower.

It's beautiful! Actually, my aunt told me years ago that Feng Shui says that if you can see your back door from your front door, you will never be able to save money & she was right! But I don't think you can see the back door from the from the front door so that's good!

Reason: you're providing a straight path for chi (energy) to enter and leave the house. It's also bad to have the kitchen sink seen from the front door, since the energy/ luck will go down the drain. I think it's not a problem in this house but some small apartments have that layout. It's also bad FS to have the stove (fire) and sink (water) across each other = I've seen this layout in several homes: stove on the counter, directly across sink on the island.

My feelings exactly. It's was fine. I'd live in it, as is, now and I'm a senior citizen. It was well cared for and looked great. No window now in the living room, for goodness sake! Fugly.
