Loving your video Luke. The slats on traffic lights are basically to stop the sun shining straight at it, whereby, a driver can't see what the lights are sometimes. Its really just shades for traffic lights🤣

They're not, they are to stop drivers at one red light mistaking a green light from a set a little way up the road for a repeater for the one they should be stopped at. At this junction there is a pedestrian crossing a little after the junction, drivers stopped at the main lights on Mile End road can easily see the lights for the crossing, the sequence turns the crossing lights green before the lights for traffic from the other direction has been stopped, a driver going through the main light red could potentially risk a T-bone type accident. The shades prevent drivers at the main junction lights from seeing the amber and green lights up ahead

I'm a truck driver in Canada and it's amazing to see CHEP takes forever to load or unload no matter where in the world they are lol. Took me 5 hours to load at CHEP last week

Right on buddy I’m here Toronto same thing up in Brampton . Get there at 10 am and leave at 3 pm . And a line up that never moves . An some what to cut in front of you. And get there schedule mixed up.

It seems they have to count every nail on every pallet. I can some what understand as they have too class the condition of the pallets. Still you would have thought they could do that later. I don't deal with Chep anymore. They don't like me as I charge demurrage on my loads after an hour.

When you commented that some bus drivers don't move. Some buses are absolute garbage and take a while to even start to rev up. There's one I drove recently which was just pathetic. and there was one yesterday which took a couple of seconds to start moving but after it was quite a quick bus. Sometimes everyone is waiting for the bus to move, bus driver included.

Personally, I like them. Overall, you have less blindspots. Which means better visibility. Long-term there is less drag so more aerodynamic which means more fuel economy. First one I drove was a good five years ago

I've only driven one once and it was fine. No complaints. Bit agricultural and as an owner driver, just not for me. I ended up getting a Scania, now 3 years old. Would like to get something that can hit 60 and thinking I'll try Volvo next. My Scania is still a pup at 200,000.

Where two sets of traffic lights are quite close together vehicles waiting at one set of lights can be confused if they see a green light a little way ahead and may go through a red light they should be stopped at, the shades prevent the green light being visible from too far away.

I can see benefits from the camera mirrors like no water on them which makes it harder to see, better light when say reversing at night and such, but yeah i drive a Volvo FL so no such fancy things, but it is a 2020, if i got a truck with them i would not mind. Had a few instances with buses that are at a stop and it looks like they indicate that they are going to turn out but yeah hazards :( another scary one is when they enter the bus stop then the passenger there is not going and they instantly turn out again.
