HGV Truck illegal overtake FAIL! Bad driving behaviour

The right-hand lane of a motorway with three or more lanes should not be used if you are driving: any vehicle drawing a trailer, a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes but not exceeding 7.5 tonnes, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter.

The biggest concern when it comes to certain lorry drivers these days is alot of the good ones have finished and have now been replaced by those only concerned about how much extra money they now earn over their last job

Disgraceful from both - definitely something going on between them. But the smaller one that illegally used the third lane was the worse of the two.

Yes 👍🏻 and this was why I saved the footage off the dash cam. There are too many HGVs illegally using the outside lanes of motorways when it suits them. It isn’t an oversight or a silly mistake. It’s just straightforward ignoring the rules.

Watching this has convinced me that giving up driving,was the right, the middle lorry driver should have moved to the nearside lane after overtaking the lorry on his nearside, but no, he kept in the middle lane, I know it was some time ago when I passed my tests, but I was taught the first rule of the road in this country is, DRIVE ON THE LEFT.

Had Class 2 since 2009 but just doing a 7.5T as a part-timer now. Local start, so it's convenient. 360 mile round trip each shift, so not pootling around town. It's restricted but its a few years old and got a manual box and its pretty nippy.

Well said everyone, first the blue truck is obstructing traffic and the weight limit for the outside lane is restricted over 7.5ton vehicles and I can’t understand why they haven’t changed the law on that yet because all vehicles over 3.5 ton are restricted to 56mph now, he’s also impatient and therefore can be seen as dangerous driving in a heavy goods vehicle, the other thing you mentioned was the general influx of new hgv drivers that in the government requests for new drivers actually reduced the fail rate in training drivers to make the numbers up, I did hear coupling of the trailer was removed from the test which I thought was ridiculous but I can’t say that for sure as it was hearsay and yet classing the car as lethal as a loaded gun, makes you wonder what another 38 tons heavier would be considered in a lethal weapon… maybe ask google lol

Silly driver, it's a producer and prosecutable offence for this vehicle to drive in the 3rd lane. The drivers insurance company will also increase the policy cost with this driver. Creeping up on trucks is always an inconvenience so I used to drop right back until the other truck made a bigger gap and then speed up to the governed speed or lower the set cruise speed.

I do this sometimes. I’ve got a Class 2 license but these days I’m just doing a 7.5T job and the truck is quick nippy. Usually I can pass bigger trucks up gradients but the bigger ones usually speed up going down, so on a regular run when I catch up with something I try to remember which way the road goes (up or down) ahead before trying to pass. On the flat if I’m just a couple of kph quicker than what I catch up with I usually drop back. I’ve learned that having to be in front of what’s in front of you makes very little difference to your ultimate arrival time unless you stay behind something really slow!

'M not agree Yess 'ts not alowd but suddenly that tanker can speed up when he saw he get overtaken by lorrydriver on the outside lane my opinion that tanker that took 500 years to take in truck on lane 1 is the cause off all the traffic problems and playing with other people life all those other hoggers on the midle lane Spacely the normal car drivers are the real danger on the roud driving like zombie's totaal not knowing what happen arround them That 's why you also see 500 brakelights coming up for totaly nothing😂😂😂

Hgv being held up by prats in middle lane, either undertake or overtake both illegal manoeuvre or sit there like sheep

If you are in a lorry you are supposed to sit there like sheep until the middle lane clears. There’s being frustrated and there’s doing something you know full well is illegal. And the thing to remember is that if the tanker is maxing out at 54mph and the rigid can do 55mph, the rigid isn’t getting that much farther down the road by doing something the driver KNOWS is illegal than if he waited. As as it turned out he didn’t get ANY further because he got blocked by the tanker driver and after all the shenanigans in my mirrors I saw he dropped right back after I passed them all. I see HGVs have similar battles (but not ALL in the outer lane) every time I go out on the road. I make mistakes and have sometimes judged things wrong but the outside lane of a motorway is a no-go area for lorries and every lorry driver knows that.
