Seth gave me the same tour but I also got to speak to the owner. I had the same reaction. This 66 is way more intimidating than the 55 and the 50 that were at previous shows. I recall the owner telling me this was not his only boat, but it was the most fun to sail ... with a race crew.

Hey Seth, Nice to see you, it's been a long time since you and Elizabeth quit doing videos. Nick, it would be nice to see Seth's kids on this 66' and get their reactions. My favorite thing about "The Sailing Family" was seeing those boys taking to every new adventure - it made me feel like a kid again. The two builders, HH and Gunboat, have new designs that are WAY over the top. Seth, "...it's really and eight ton boat with a thirty meter tall mast..." OMG!!! I'm more than a little intimidated.

Seth had a channel with his wife and 3 kids before he accepted a position with HH. He is a very experienced sailor. I have never seen a helm with a red panic button. The dagger boards are about twice the height of a person. T-Rudders! Titanium, no chrome. Inside there was a slight echo when they talked indicating no material absorbing sound - like an almost empty space. This boat is to show the capability of HH to design and build a boat. What, $10 million US? :¬) Webhead USA

I would love to see this boat smash Sail LaVaga because I am sure it would wipe the smile off Reiley face. HH boat commission for the Wins new toy was just Sooooo much more professional than the SLV where they ripped out brand new sail, flooded brand new Yanmar and over heated the battery bank just to mention a few things. HH really has the cat boat thing going. So glad the wins chose a HH just think they should have gotten the next size up and had the dagger board option. Tks RR2 this is a fantastic boat racer.
@constantineding870010 ай бұрын
They are already maxed out their budget. I remember they mentioned in a video that they were really captivated by the forward cockpit of HH52.
@angela1984a10 ай бұрын
Don't remember the battery bank overheating on the Rapido 60... What does the Rapido 60 that SLV got cost? ~2,4 million USD? And what does this HH66 cost? I'm going to guess that this HH66 costs considerably more than the Rapido 60... Also: The ripped sail on SLV was operator error. And a big part of that was Riley and Elayna having visa troubles(?) in Vietnam. That caused Riley to miss one/two or more shakedown sales off the coast of Vietnam. But yeah... I guess Vietnam's views on visas is something you'd have to factor in when getting a Rapido 60... I'm also going to guess that insurance and maintenance on the HH66 is considerably more than on the Rapido 60.
@angela1984a10 ай бұрын
Also: According to Riley he's able to single hand the Rapido 60. Could someone single hand this HH66?
@gerritgovaerts844310 ай бұрын
@@angela1984a Base price is $4 million without options IIRC , so yes , considerably more expensive than a Rapido 60 , and not faster , not even close ...
@gregorymatthies529710 ай бұрын
Boy SLV apologists are everywhere. Did you notice that everyone on the HH boat was wearing a PFD during Wins commission? And the Rapido will require a crew to sail fast just like any racing boat. Fast boats require the big sails to remain up when wind blows and that requires people to help not a single handed boat with a small family along.
