My Grandpa's name was Ralph, Ralph Strohbehn. He was a farmer in central Iowa. He raised corn, beans and cattle. I loved listening to Ralph. I have a great appreciation for the elderly and I can tell you do too. There's nothing better than listening to old time stories. I miss my Grandparents a lot. I'm 56 and I'm a Grandma 8×'s now, so I have an even greater appreciation for what my Grandparents did for us as kids. They always kept us for a couple weeks in the summer and of coarse the Holidays were huge, with all the cousins at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Everyone stayed yhe whole weekend and it was mighty busy. They had a huge two story stucco farm house and I loved sleeping on the sleeping porch in the big feather bed! Memories that I still hold dear today and my kids do too!

Thanks for the comment and watching the video. It was a great honor for me to make almost 40 videos with Ralph Robertson that I filmed over a two year period. Since his passing in December they have been a surge in his video views here on KZbin. The series was first posted a few years back on Facebook but at that time the KZbin Channel only had about 2k subscribers. Now that I’m at over 100k subs “The Greasy Hollow Memories” videos have found a whole new audience.. Come along with me to Greasy Hollow, Tennessee and meet a real Appalachian storyteller that became a living legend. Below is a link to the Greasy Hollow Memories series if you would like to watch more. John Ward kzbin.info/aero/PLhiXVG-s0EOmwKTuG8AZ4_qRBG88DxNtL

We watched ur channel off and on. We love it. The best part is when you were at Ralph's home and you were frying frog leg. I am so amazed at how good he gets around and the memory he remembers everytthing. One of the main reason I am writing. I am always the 1looking in the background all the pictures on the wall and i look up to seee this picture of an old house the backyard had a clothesline a couple trees it is a picture i have had on the wall in my living room..we have often wondered if who painted it and what was the home nothing fancy. It gives me the calnnest feeling .you will have to let me know where you got urs. We have one just like it. I am going to take a picture of it so you can see what I am talking about. I will take the picture later so i will send it as soon as i can. Youu are doing a wonderful thing people just don't care anymore especially when it comes to an older person they're afraid they might be asked to help in some way. It takes a a special person to do what u are doing. Hope to talk to you soon.

New subscriber here. I so enjoy your videos. Mr. Ralph reminds me of my daddy. My daddy and mama passed away a few years ago. I miss them terribly.

I Love looking at the countryside it reminds me of where my Mom and Dad are from . Quicksand Kentucky . Even better the way they talk is like my folks. This is what matters in this life ,kinship and loving your neighbors . Thank you so much for this it just lightens my heart. I have subscribed and will be watching all that you put up.
