If you deadhead home, on arrival, you'll find a load where you left?
@HHTV604 жыл бұрын
yeah, that's correct. so, Rule #9 is, "never check the load board for the loads available in the city you left behind." ;)

I started smiling before you began to tell us the 7 Rules, I must've anticipated the rules were going to be so, so true 🇬🇧 🏴.

Good rules Sergei, but I would say they apply to the whole trucking industry in general, as I don't do heavy haul and have ran into most of these issues .

1. Become a "in-house" carrier for Canada based heavy equipment dealer. 2. Brokers make you broker. 3. Become "in-house" carrier of Canada based heavy machinery manufacturer. 4 .Put on salesman hat and get away from brokers. 5. While dealing with brokers, call brokers where you want to go, not where you're at. (when I was with Landstar, in California...I called agent in St Louis, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Rockford. In Texas...I called Pittsburgh, Columbus OH, and NJ. In Washington...I called Salt Lake City. Etc).

Brokers seem to be the central problem Sergei! I was fortunate enough to deal with my customers directly and had enough problems but it doesn’t seem to work that way in North America . I hope your perseverance is rewarded soon:).

that's right. despite the humor, all these rules are based on my own experiences. this is the real stuff you have to deal with as trucker.

I’m never stuck anywhere with my RGN because I always load the Jeep and dead dead home even if I am pulling just a three axle lowboy either Portland Oregon or LA., Cali I come back to Mississippi too reload and the rates are high enough too do that

Captain Sergei what are your thoughts on a tri axle step deck for a entryway into heavy haul
@HHTV604 жыл бұрын
that's exactly what I did - I bought a 3 axle step deck, in order to get experience with heavy and oversize loads.

yep. this week and the last I missed 5 or 6 loads, because brokers al wanted more than 26 feet in the well. I caught one of them in the lie after I insisted on pictures of the load, and we both learned (surprisingly for the broker) that this machine would actually fit in my 26 ft well. the only reason I had to pass on the load is because it was 1400 miles away and pay regular rate on 500 miles to Canada.
@docholiday10344 жыл бұрын
Sergei Dratchev Heavy Haul Never have trusted brokers much in my 45 years doing this. Weight they always lie....before richies bros... i held a few loads hostage till they corrected weight or size and rate....Good luck...its cold as a sob up here in north country....👍👍👍👍☃️

You mean to tell me there are actually people who want to work in heavy haul? A dry van is where it's at man.
@HHTV604 жыл бұрын
dry van is step 2. first you need to get experience in heavy haul. they won't hire you without previous heavy haul experience. you're on the right track!

This international Cartage rule forcing you back into Canada is wasteful. On the other hand, I just watched a video from an Expeditor team that deadheaded 525 miles and acted like it was normal....and maybe it-is.

Sir ""Captain"" Sergei !!! You have been in this business a long time & have fallen into the issues that you now have as ''Rules"" for everybody to understand & Good that you are still able to maintain your ''Sanity" when dealing with the ""Brokers""& Permit Companies"" !! That MA. ticket was just 1 of the issues you had with the ''Wrong "' Permits!! That #7 rule?? Don't you get a trans-script from the Broker on the amount for the ''COD"" from the Customer as to the full payment ??""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!
