Sergei, the more vehicles one buys then the poorer one's bank account. Try to keep your car longer. I still drive my 2006 Marquis Mercury with police motor and tranny; runs like a boat! And still drive my 2017 GMC truck (only problem was ignition cylinder, and now maybe upcoming tranny repair). Also, with older vehicles one can just have P.L & P.D. insurance so the premium fee is a lot cheaper. Also, older vehicles are stolen a lot less often.

Serge, you need to buy GAP insurance for your vehicle since you're so upside down on the loan. You might've already purchased it when you bought the car from the dealer (check your contract), or you have it through your insurance. If not GET IT!

We have government run insurance out here in British Columbia…I’m not even sure you could get a $5000 deductible plan out here but I may be wrong.

So... what are your plans for real regarding the upcoming winter (e.i. halt in your current job, whose boss/owner isn't doing you any favor from day one)?

I wonder what would happen if your Jeep was hit with another hail storm before the repairs were done? The classic double whammy!🙄
If you have 5k deductible, you don’t have rental car on the policy - it doesn’t pay to skimp on insurance. As soon as your jeep is repaired, sell it or trade it in

In the UK it would be a right off I'm sure, but here we don't get mega hale (everything in Canada seems bigger😂), 2800 gbp deductable wow😮, think mine is 250 gbp.

I have a friend in Calgary had two newer vehicles wrote off and $35,000 in home damage in the same storm.

Serg I wouldn't even bother. If you're going to live with it for 6 months, why bother even getting it fixed. You'll take a hit on trade-in, maybe 5k, but you'll keep that 5k in your pocket now.

Wasted the eventual "interest" he might get on the 5,000 beforehand, on that overpriced wine... and the "nice" tip, ofc

Instead of keep spending money why don’t you pay off debt so you are not always upside down with car loans, get rid of debt and retire happy

unsolicited advice: forget about getting new car for uber, i bet it's economically unfeasible considering the fact that you can't make living out of it using your current vehicle.

First of all we had like 27K damage back in 2010 in Airdrie on 3 vehicles. Our deductable was nothing near 5K and both cars were written off. You have 17k in damage I would say thats pretty much a writeoff. You have a very poor Insurance company and to wait till April is a joke!
@johngreydanus2033Күн бұрын
What? Can't drive without insurance? Certainly that is the 3rd party insurance; in Australia that is part of the registration.

Not in Canada, he is correct
@johngreydanus2033Күн бұрын
@@oldandretired-cj4hb Just not true, you don’t understand insurance, can you use Google? In Alberta, basic automobile insurance (accident benefits and third party liability) is required by law. Additional insurance coverage (such as collision and comprehensive) is not required by law.
