Nice to see. Even if the systems are different, you see the same dedication to sound and music in them, realised in different ways.

Thanks for sharing these videos. Although the “sky has no limit” setup looks amazing, I am more interested personally seeing people flirting with the inflection point of the law of diminished returns and getting the best value for money setup.

Now if only we can get an ingenius super tweaker to show his susyem! Or would that be giving away too many tweak ideas that are Top Secret? If there are strings from the ceiling holding up cables, we don't mind; but we already know that one. Any guys using magnetic levitation on your cables? Or the bottom trunk piece of a thousand year old mighty redwood tree as your equipment stand. Check with your builder if your floor can hold over half a ton. What is disturbing and sad about the real high end guys video is that his wonderful Nola speakers, he has never really heard with all that stuff crowding it. Speakers need to be in free space. Also TV screens cause early reflections and can really bring the sound quality down. Spending that much money on equipment and then crowding it up instead of letting it breathe in free space is a little hard to believe. Perhaps they are hearing 1/2 the potential sound quality of their equipment. The first guys video was the coolest aesthetically. Even though his equipment is not nearly as high end as the 2nd to last video, it's well set up and the room acoustically treated, and I'm sure that in at least some ways it sounds better than the super high end guys system. That would make for an interesting listening comparison

Guido, you obviously cherish reel to reels very much. Recently I heard someone being convinced that reel to reel is even sounding better than vinyl. I am getting more and more curious about that medium.

Better start saving then... I have 4 R2R, but none of the caliber we saw in the video. And already it's not cheap. And those 15 ips master tapes are very expensive like $300-500 and you need a specific type of R2R to be able to play them. But with a nice "regular" R2R, in good condition or serviced with a decent 7.5ips tapes, it's pretty enjoyable already and if the heads are in good shape you could make some pretty good recordings

Yes, my logo says it all! It is the best medium out there but yes, as others have said it is expensive and IMO it is better to wait and get a pro one than get immediately a low quality machine. I did a lot of videos on the topic. Check out my tape playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLDKsdsTBptr477KwjoZyMlCc8Yvjplijw&si=M-zVFxHAR5kOCvje

All very interesting. For #3, yes I know it’s vulgar, but I’d like to know how much all that cost him. Both in terms of hardware, and his massive media collection.

It would be ideal if you could list in the description each viewers equipment featured in each video. Also if the highlight awards icons could be a little smaller.. Otherwise great.

2:40. YOU CRINGE AT AN EQ. IM GONNA DO A SHOW ON EQS ALL HIGH END UNITS HAVE EQS BUILT ON THIER MAIN BOARDS TO FLATEN SOUND SO MOST EVERY HIGH END COMPONENT ALREADY IS USING EQ SO GETTT OVER IT!!
@anadialog
@anadialog 5 ай бұрын
I think I see some prejudice here, and it ain’t me ;-) Even if some manufacturers do that, not the purist ones which are in good number, adding another component along the line is always a bad idea. That is my main concern as well as in the internal circuit, not the effect. Simple is much better. But I understand who need for example like him, some controls for low volume listening
@areks.6101
@areks.6101 5 ай бұрын
Yes indeed, I'm against additional components such as EQ "in-line" set up, between components. They do add unnecessary distortion, some noise & thinning the soundstage. Even with expensive Pro-Audio equipment (Klark Teknik, hi-end DBX Stuff, etc.) However......my EQ is running via pre-amp's tape loop. EQ is only effective if I engage the "tape monitor" switch. No need for equalizer otherwise. I like the timbre as pure, as possible. For very low volume listening, especially at night time, while people sleep, the sound "loses" its highs&lows, so boosting those frequencies really helps. Remember the "Loudness" button on vintage receivers? That's exactly what I'm doing, but with the EQ. I hope that helps. Cheers, and best regards everyone! 🙂

Good evening. My comment isn't concerning the video (which is great). My daughter works in Florence so I come to your town very often. I want to ask if i can find a shop in Florence to cut new vinyl Records with my own music in small numbers (for example 5 copies) Thank you very much and I feel sorry for the inconvenience
@anadialog

Unfortunately in Florence you are not going to find much. A true real place for small batches is in Bologna (35 min by train): www.vinilificio.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgJCz2_HnhQMVOGxBAh2-sgPNEAAYAiAAEgIwQPD_BwE
